Both cabins are very neat and clean and cozy with charming views on the lake. Dinner and breakfast were delightful. What makes it special is a fact that you can rent bikes and explore Polonnaruwa by yourself (or with the great host). There are many monkeys, birds and cows around. We slept like babies, no mosquitos.

Great accomodation with very pleasant atmosphere! The room was clean and comfortable, with a cozy terrace overlooking the green rice fields. The host was really nice and friendly, and we had a delicious dinner. The location is perfect, walking distance from the ancient city and the bus stop. I highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone!

I really like that Ruins Villa was away from the city itself and along a very quiet track not far from the ruins. It was such a peaceful location with lots of lush plants around. I was surprised by the canal and how beautiful it is and enjoyed seeing it while in the way to the villa. Upali is an exceptional host and I really enjoyed getting to know home and more about his place. He was so helpful and kind…I rented a bike from him to explore the ruins nearby; he took me and the bike in his run rule so I could start at the entrance and finish at the end gate which was near his place. I ate breakfast and dinner there also - delicious and healthy!

The hosts provided amazing service and genuine care. They arranged a safari for me at a better price than usual agencies, picked me up directly from the accommodation, and came along as company so I wouldn’t feel alone and had someone to share the experience with. They also prepared a delicious lunch and dinner for me so I didn’t have to go out alone. Their kindness and thoughtfulness were truly heartwarming. The place has a beautiful, welcoming atmosphere – I felt right at home. Highly recommended, especially for solo travelers!

I can't recommend Villa Ravichini Homestay enough! The place is fantastic. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom nice with good water pressure, and the breakfast was delicious. But what truly sets this homestay apart is Ravi. He's the heart and soul of the place — so patient, kind, and helpful. Despite the heavy rain on my arrival, he suggested a safari to the Eco Park nearby, where we saw many elephants and plenty of birds. Shiran, our driver, was great too — knowledgeable and respectful of animals and of nature! Ravi also made amazing tea, rented me a bike, and even took me to the Shivaratri Festival at the ancient temples. If you're in Polonnaruwa, stay at Villa Ravichini.

Room is very big, with comfortable beds. Very quiet location. Hot water works very well, there is even a toothpaste. WiFi works very well. We had no mosquitoes. To the historical part you can cycle by bicycle , there is a path, you don’t have to cycle on the highway. The juices are very tasty.

Nice air-conditioned apartments in a beautiful shady garden. The apartments are located close to the sights, the lake and shops, but far enough from the busy main street. The host was very attentive and willing to help us with anything and completely arranged a safari for us, including transportation. He also lent us bikes, which we used to ride around the lake one day and the next day to ride through the historical ruins. We spent 3 nights in the villa and it was a wonderful experience that we highly recommend to everyone.
