This was our last but one stop of a three month long excursion. The hotel owner could not have been friendlier. He was a mine of information on what to do on the visits to Petra - where to go, what to see, how long it would take, what to avoid. The view from the hotel was excellent overlooking the hills and mountains that conceal the jewel that is Petra itself. The crowning glory though was the breakfast, easily the best I'd had in 3 months of travelling. I can't speak highly enough of this hotel, especially given that we previously stayed in some beauties on this trip.

The hotel owner went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The hotel is beautiful - everything is brand new and sparking clean. We also loved the location. Unlike hotels located right at entrance to Petra/the visitor center, we found being more centrally located in Wadi Musa (and still within walking distance of Petra) was much better in terms of the selection of restaurants. I would highly recommend staying at Moses Residence in your trip to Jordan (also - having written this in 2024, Jordan is currently being negatively impacted by the neighboring war in Gaza. I would encourage anyone considering a trip to Jordan to not write it off due to this. Jordan actually has a relatively 'safe' rating with for example US State Department and Canada's travel advisory system and we found it to be an extremely safe country to travel in).

We got to the guest house super early as we decided to take a taxi from the airport versus a bus. Shadi not only permitted us to check in early (we were exhausted), he also up graded our room to one with an awesome view. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was excellent. We ended up spending two full days at Petra and the night before our first day, Shadi gave us very helpful information on what to see and which trails to take on the first day, and suggested we approach the monastery from the back the second day. This was excellent advice. On two of our evenings there, the staff made a fire, and on one night he even had his brother come over and sing some Bedouin folk songs. We had a great time at the guest house and felt like part of the family.
