The place is cozy, clean and nicely renovated. It's by the lake so you can have a super nice walk about it and enjoy the sunset, the farmers life and get a lot of smiles from the locals. It was perfect to rest and relax during a long scooter ride from the south coast to Ella. What I liked the most, is the owner, he did his best to make my stay perfect, providing good food, both at dinner and breakfast and a lot of tips and info about Sri Lanka. I truly recommend this place!

I had the best stay here!!! The host was extreamly sweet and helpsom person! Making sure that you didn’t need anything. Very generous and good breakfast and dinner. Excelent location. Short walk to the town and right next to Tissa lake and fruit bat wiew point. I got safari organised by the place and it was beyond any expectations. I saw every possible animal the park has including leopard. And planty of elephants. I give the highest caracter and recomend it for a stay you will not be dissapointed about.

We had a very nice stay at the Lake Front Yala Safari. The rooms are clean, without moskitos, and it’s quite. The family was very welcoming. The provided food was amazing, and they created a very authentic Sri Lankan experience (e.g. telling you stories, letting you harvest your own coconut, learn/ support in the kitchen). We also booked our safari with them (have seen many animals, e.g. leopards, elephants…), which we can highly recommend.

High attention to the guests of the hotel from the owners. The room was very clean. The food for breakfast and dinner was varied and tasty. Evening excursion to the lake with bird watching and flying foxes was very educational. We also really liked the morning safari organized by the owner of the hotel to Yala Park, we were lucky to see several elephants, two leopards, crocodiles, buffaloes, deer, various birds.

Staying at Lake Face Cabana was the highlight during our trip to Sri Lanka. The atmosphere at the location is peaceful and serene, and the lake view is gorgeous. The cabanas were a perfect fit for the scenery, and have been designed and built by the hosts themselves. They are very skillfully made, and with great taste. Same goes with their garden, which added to the magical experience. The family could as well be professional designers! During our stay we were visited by water birds, squirrels, a monitor lizard and a turtle. We were told there is also a (well-behaving) resident crocodile, who unfortunately had other commitments while we were at the property. :) The main attraction though were our hosts: Gayan, Dilushika (sorry if the spelling is wrong!) and their two adorable girls. What a beautiful, sweet family! As we got to know them a little bit, we became inspired by their kindness, curiosity and thrive. The couple were very considerate and attentive to our needs, and were always available for interesting conversations about life in Sri Lanka. Dilushika's cooking was fantastic, the breakfast especially was delicious and well worth the cost! Oh and be sure to ask for the safaris directly from the accommodation. Gayan's brother runs the best safari outfit in the area, and we had two perfect days in Yala and Bundala. For our next visit to Tissamaharama, there's no other accommodation option than Lake Face Cabana. Couldn't recommend it more! <3

This was really an excellent homestay. Lovely and warm family. They looked after us really well. The lunch, dinner and breakfast were fresh and delicious made by Shiwanthi. Nice hot shower. Spacious veranda in front of the room. We went on an excellent game drive with husband Nalaka. Good elephant, peacock and deer sightings. Both, Shiwanthi and Nalaka are very friendly and helpfull.

The site is a 10 and the room is also excellent. Often in hotels they are annoying and insistent so that you hire excursions, transportation, etc. with them, but this has not been the case. I saw the rice harvesting process.
