The son and mother running the guesthouse were wonderful. It's a beautiful location, and because it is fairly far from the station, the son picked us up in his van at the station. We did have to call him to get us (which we knew ahead of time), so it's important to have the capability to do so or otherwise arrange it with the guesthouse host. We thoroughly enjoyed the onsen at the hotel with included yukatas and our very spacious room (had a heater/AC as well!). The sheets and yukatas and towels were impeccably clean and pressed. The son and mother had a lovely cafe with free beverages downstairs, and they also had a wonderful breakfast we paid for in the morning. I feel this guesthouse is truly a hidden gem and highly recommend it to anyone considering it. Easily one of the best places I have stayed at in Japan. My husband and I were so charmed during the whole experience.

The owner was extremely friendly and adaptable to my situation, she was very kind and even let me keep my bags at the property ling after checkout time so that I could explore more of kyoto. The beds are comfortable as well as the toilet and shower facilities.

I loved this place. It was so clean and quiet and the manager couldn't have been more helpful . A real pleasure to work with . Transport links into Kyoto were pretty good too with 20-30 trains every few minutes. Kitchen well stocked , washing machine and even provided a free parking space for my scooter. And best of all a lovely , comfy bed .

Friendly clean property with delicious Japanese breakfast. The kids also loved it. Room was a good size for all 4 of us. The owners were fantastic, giving us great advice on travelling around Kyoto with the kids, great restaurant recommendations and advice on attractions. The location is perfect. Only 3 minutes walk to Kiyamachi dori, a old street along the Takase river, which is a famous location for Sakura viewing if you visit Japan by April. The hotel is by far my most favourite hotel in Japan. It feels like home. The room is spacious and comfort.

This was my second time here. The hosts of this family-run small inn are so welcoming and helpful, and the rooms are really comfortable. The location is close to many major sights (museums, temples) and right around the corner from a train station if you want to go farther.

The house is near Kyoto station and bus stops. The room was clean, comfortable and very convenient. The host and the staffs are are so kindness and helpful. A male staff drove us to the Kyoto Station when all taxies were unavailable and another female wrapped our paper bag by plastic bag because it was raining. I highly appreciate these people this place, and will continue to stay here when I come back to Kyoto.
