Brilliant place! Manager in there, from Yorkshire, was a top bloke and asset to Adnams, did absolutely everything he could to give us a top 2 nights even though I arrived in middle of a hugely busy Friday night

For trip advisor: We had an amazing stay here over Valentine’s Day. We stayed for two nights and the inn was just fabulous! Our room named Loch Long was just perfect and cosy and the bed was so comfortable, we had the best nights sleep. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinners and had the most awesome Tomahawk steak which was honestly the best steak we have ever had. The inn is so historical with beautiful inglenook fireplaces and has an amazing past. The staff were all lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. There is loads of parking in the car park just across from the inn and the inn staff give you a card for your car so you don’t pay any parking charges. The local area is just awesome- the quay side is just down from the inn with lovely walks along the coastline and a riverside cafe, the church up the road is beautiful and dates back to the 1100’s (the medieval ruins are still at one end of the church) and the Castle is just fantastic with 6 floors and interactive headsets for adults and children alike. If you are looking for a shiny, modern hotel then this probably won’t tick your box, but if you love character, history and a warm and cosy inn with amazing food then this is for you (and definitely us, we would stay again in a heartbeat :). Thank you for a fantastic few days.

I travel all over the UK for work and stay in 100's of hotels but the hospitality shown by the owner and staff was magnificent!! Telephoned them to say I might be late for an evening meal, they said don't worry we'll sort you out. I left before breakfast due to early start so they made me a pack lunch instead NO charge! I'm back down next month and will book again, this will be my go to hotel in future as I'm in the area at least monthly!

I really enjoyed this location, mostly because of its family significance as my grandfather was born in this Inn. It was lovely to visit and see the place first hand. I’m from Canada

Superb Bed and Breakfast which exceeded all expectations. Room was spotless, very quiet and peaceful with ample car parking in an out of town location. Excellent breakfast cooked to order. Host Karen very friendly and so welcoming has everything under control with such attention to detail from arrival to departure. Deservedly called a ‘Gem’.
