Tremendous place to stay. If you are willing, and able, to drive 15 minutes to Dominical (the closest spot) for lunch and dinner, then this place is absolutely worth visiting. Almost newly built with large rooms, and a beautiful garden. Emanuel and staff was so helpful and friendly. Me and the family really enjoyed our 4 nights here.

David, our host, was incredibly kind and welcoming - he went out of his way to show us sloths, monkeys, and other incredible local wildlife, making our experience feel magical from the very start. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, fresh, delicious, and a perfect start to each day. One of the biggest highlights was the direct access to the beach. Whether you’re looking to relax or catch some waves, it’s an ideal spot for surfing and enjoying the ocean. The whole vibe of the place is peaceful and beautiful, and Carmen’s hospitality made it feel like home. We left feeling so relaxed and happy. We can’t wait to come back !

i would recommend this to friends! very calm . sloths and birds and a perfect beach you need a car - norhing in proxinity other than a small supermarket but with car an excellent base to discover Manuel antonio , Dominical and Uvita we travelled in december and saw ripley turtles hacth from the hacthery 400 meter from this place super laundry service

Dinah and Tobey are just amazing. This piece of paradise they made here is really beautiful. With the best shower in Costa Rica and wonderful pastry that Dinah make every day it was the best option around. The view is stunning with the real touch of nature all around. The fantastic location adjacent to the beach meant that we could hear the sound of the waves as we fell asleep and as we awoke in the morning. The sunrise and sunset seen from the beach were very special. We had regular visits from a group of white faced capuchin monkeys, saw red macaws, frequent groups of pelicans flying low to the sea and a resident sloth. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This was a perfect end to 18 days in Costa Rica.

Honestly this is the best hostel in Uvita. Its location, friendliness, comfortable bed and enough space in the room. It’s surrounded by green, nice chill vibe to hang out. Excellent value for a very friendly price. The name of the hostel “Luminosa” is true!
