It's very well located, just a 5-minute walk from Calle de los Sombreros, the main commercial area and the most touristy street in San Juan de La Laguna. The property is sustainably made, equipped with solar panels, and the bathroom facilities are brand new. You won't find luxury and refinement here, but everything is extremely well-kept and clean. The luxury lies in the view of the Indian Nose mountains and the fact that it's right on the edge of Atitlan, away from the noise and crowds. The staff is incredible. I loved meeting the owner Carlos, and the employees Gerson and Nila are extremely kind, polite, and always available to assist with anything you need. San Juan is a very charming village. You can stay at Mundo Abu and explore other villages, as the property is a 5-minute walk from the main pier, where you can catch a boat to visit San Pedro, and even Panajachel, which is very close, it's not even a 30-minute boat ride away. In San Juan, I did the Indian Nose trail, which is definitely worth it. The staff helped me a lot with everything I needed, including scheduling tours. I found exactly what I wanted at Mundo Abu: comfort, privacy, and contact with nature. Waking up every day to the view of Lake Atitlan is a beautiful sight and a huge privilege to be surrounded by nature but with all the comfort and amenities.

His wife cooked the best breakfast. Everyday we had a new menu for breakfast. The bed and pillow were comfy to sleep on. Good wifi. Overall I am very satisfied with my stay.

The cabin is located right on the bank of the lake, offering a stunning view once you leave the compound (there is a fence there for security reasons!) and the inside is cute and cosy. The kitchen equipment is slightly limited but was good enough for some tacos in front of the lake. The staff were very friendly and patient (I arrived not knowing it was cash-only, but they were trusting enough to let me go to the cash machine in my own time). Situated about 5 minutes walk from the village, it doesn't take long to reach the restaurants and bars, though is far enough to not be bothered by the noise.

I stayed for a week and really enjoyed having an apartment to myself. Check in was easy, and the host sent detailed instructions for locating the apartment before I arrived. The location is great, and there are restaurants and plenty of shops nearby; and the central fruit/vegetable market is in walking distance (the blender in the kitchen was great for making fruit smoothies!) There was fantastic communication with the host, and having a desk to write at allowed me to spend time working on creative projects in beautiful San Pedro.

I had a private balcony in a private apartment with shower, bathroom and dressing room; bed with bug net and a bunch of windows to see the lake outside and volcanoes.
