I can explain our experiences about this facility as follows, we have been traveling for years and staying in different facilities, and this is the first time we have stayed in a facility as new, clean, equipped with quality equipment, extra comfortable beds, stunning location and view, very close to markets, beaches and nice taverns, a wonderful and very large balcony with a wonderful view. Actually, I can summarize it as follows, if I were to buy a summer house for myself, I could only have such a perfect house. As for the hosts, they are the most friendly, sweet, warm-hearted, helpful, angel-hearted people we have ever met and they have become our relatives, we will definitely come back to see them and their sweet son Dionysos again.

We are currently staying in Karavostamo but fancied a change of scenery. I had holidayed in Greece for 21 of the 26 years together, but recently my partner died and I have found it difficult to settle this year. The Mesaktis Rooms were exactly what I needed. A beautiful tranquil setting, our terrace looked down on to a small lagoon. The owners gave me and my friend homemade lemonade and the most delicious homegrown figs, which we consumed whilst overlooking the lagoon, which was home to over 30 turtles! We were given bread with which to feed them. What a sight to feast your eyes on while we drank our delicious lemonade! The accommodation is rustic, it’s not luxurious, but it’s what we both loved about this place. There are tavernas beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to make a simple meal. There are tavernas maybe 5 minutes walk away, a mini market next door, and over the road there is probably the best beach on Ikaria - Mesaktis beach. At the far end is a lagoon in which you can see even more turtles! The hosts, as you may have picked up on, were so generous and warm. I miss the place, the kittens and Sadi the dog already. This has been the standout experience so far of this 3 week Greek island hopping trip. I absolutely loved it, and it helped me along in my grief journey. To the owners: thank you for your hospitality, for letting me leave the car on your premises after we had checked out, and sorry for taking the room key!

She was so kind and welcoming. The room was very comfortable and clean. We had such a fun time using the outdoor kitchen and walking down to the nearby cafe and beach. Stella was so nice to cook us homemade cake and orange marmalade. We could not have had a better time!

The cottage was equipped with everything any traveler would need. From coffee filters to trash bags, from cleaning supplies to bug/sprays and repellent. All the necessary kitchen equipment was there. The house was spotless. The view over Mesakti beach is wonderful. The house is situated away from areas where the number of homes built very close to one another. So if you are looking for peace and quiet and enjoy watching a sunset while sipping on your wine, this is the one. You may get lucky and receive regular visits from humming birds as they look for the nectar within fowers all around the cottage. As you walk to the cottage, there is a round teras on your left that could be prepared / set up as an outdoor sitting / eating area. It has great potential for it. However, it would require prunning of couple olive and almond trees to take full advantage of the view.
