Nice and quiet area and a very short drive into the township. I'm likely to come back here, we had a couple of nights but it's the sort of place that would be a comfortable base of operations for a week of exploring the area. The apartment's private BBQ area is a nice touch and under different circumstances I would like to have taken advantage of it. We were provided a little cot for our infant and it was a good sturdy portable jobby, felt safe for him.

The luxurious Village Lake Luxury Apartments are centrally located Hanmer Springs village centre only a few hundred metres from the popular thermal pools and the main street with shops, cafes and restaurants. We loved our stay at Village Lake Apartments. We had a 2 bedroom upstairs apartment and you really couldn't fault it. It was spacious, nicely decorated, very comfortable and absolutely spotless. The kitchen was very well equipped, the staff were helpful and friendly and it was very well located. Would definitely recommend

A fridge and kitchenware are also provided, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle. At the aparthotel, all units are equipped with bed linen and towels. Staff was so pleasant and helpful! They even gave us a ride to the start of the Kaikoura Peninsula trail. We hardly gave them any notice about wanting to go but they were so accommodating and wonderful! They gave us a lot of tips for activities and helped us make dinner reservations for restaurants that were quite hard to get on a weekend. Just top notch - we've stayed in 5 star luxury resorts and the level of personal touch and service at Shearwater was very comparable! Of course the room is an apartment but the view, the amenities, the personal touch is part of the charm!

Close to the water, easy to get to, spacious, warm when we arrived, clean, friendly, helpful & knowledgable staff. Plus the thoughtful touch of a small amount of milk left in the fridge for a coffee or two the next morning was lovely & unexpected.
