It’s super close to the Kyoto Station, but the exit nearest to the hotel doesn’t have an elevator (the only lift we found was inside the shop/drugstore nextdoor, but it closes at a certain time, so plan ahead if you hace big luggage). The bed was comfortable. The staff was really nice. They let us store our stuff before the checkin. The room is indeed small, but we managed.

    It'a an APA hotel, you kind of know what to expect. Everything worked and the prices are reasonable. The location was very good for both the bus/train station, so it was easy to get to all the places you wanted to go. There was also a communal bath, which my Japanese wife wife made daily use of while we were there.

    The APA hotel chain is quite standard across the country so I already knew what to expect, which is something I appreciate. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, fuss-free check-in. Also, I like that the beds are raised, allowing for luggage space.
