From the first moment I parked, I felt comfortable and at-home in Neil and Sue's lovely spot. Both are top-class people, the type you want to hang out with. The property itself is perfection. Wild flowers, chirping birds, the smell of honey suckle in the air, all of nature accompanies your stay. I stayed in the Cottage, which offered nice privacy and lovely quarters, but each of their individual bedrooms in the main house are lovely as well. Breakfast, as many have said, was top-notch. From the property, the amenities, and the way they care, I couldn't ask for a better stay. I'll certainly be back.

Matamata Central Motel is a 20-minute drive from the Hobbiton Movie Set & Farm Tours, where parts of the Lord of the Rings trilogy were being filmed. Spacious and super clean! Even had tiny bottles of cream for coffee / tea.
