The staff were really friendly and made us feel at home, the location was excellent and central, and the room was clean and comfortable. The snacks were a great touch after a long day of travel. We will definitely love to stay again in the future.

Well worth the effort to travel to experience a lovely ryokan, it's host and the town. I paid for dinner and I'm SO glad I did. It was a highlight of my stay and in deed a highlight of my 5 week trip in Japan. You sit in a sunken seating area and watch the ryokan owner/cook prepare what felt like a large number of individual dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. I was concerned about hearing other guests because, being an older house, the walls are thin - but the night I was there all the guests were respectfully quiet. I had a view over the "river" which may be a mis-nomer - but it is a peaceful stream running through the pretty street. I highly recommend a visit.

The staff was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my stay was perfect. The rooms were beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable, and filled with thoughtful touches that made me feel right at home. Every interaction was seamless, with exceptional service that was both professional and genuinely caring. This hotel truly sets the bar high for hospitality—highly recommended for anyone seeking a luxurious, memorable experience in Otsu. Thank you, Hotel Koo, for a wonderful stay!

Guesthouse En, tempat penginapan dengan basikal percuma dan taman, terletak di Omihachiman, 34km dari Kuil Enryaku-ji, 35km dari Kuil Sanzen-in, dan juga 35km dari Gunung Hiei. The house is clean and very peaceful.

Biwako Hanakaido features outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, 3 dining options and rooms with a balcony and Lake Biwako views. It also has a garden and a sauna, while the lobby offers free WiFi. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and it easy to communicate with them. The ladies that presented the food at dinner were exceptional, explaining each dish in detail, and even assisted in frying the meats perfectly. An overall amazing experience

Biwako Ryokusuitei offers Japanese-style/Western rooms with Lake Biwako views, a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. It is a wonderful and relaxing environment and allows you to enjoy the best onsen experience. The hotel staff organised the shuttle bus for us even though it passed 6pm to ensure we made it to our dinner reservation. The food provided was 10/10, possibly one of the best meals we had in Japan ! And I forgot an item when I left the hotel, the staff just mailed it to my next hotel within the next day. Will definitely come back!
