Located at the Paul Kruger Gate to the Kruger National Park, Kruger Gate Hotel is situated on the banks of the Sabie River. This hotel was nothing short of marvelous. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, the rooms were superb and our meals were always delicious. The real highlight was the breathtaking view from the lookout pool. During our stay, we saw hippos, hyenas, and 3 leopards in the distance.

Set in Wakkerstroom, Wetlands Game Lodge offers free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a restaurant and a bar. The location is stunning, as the lodge is situated inside a huge land with ponds and hills where several types of wild animals roam freely (zebras, buffalo, eland, ostriches, etc.). Our room was spacious and very comfortable - the only downside being that the shower is literally inside the bedroom with no door to it, so water gets splashed outside unfortunately - and the high, king-sized bed was the most comfortable we've tried in South Africa. There was a bathtub in the open bathroom area which we never used. Before we arrived, we got a bit lost on the way as Google Maps took us on dead-end roads in the nearby town covered with tall wetlands grass, but thanks to Lulu and her sister who helped us on the phone and waited for us on the street in town, we were able to make it safely to the lodge, albeit very late at night! Thankfully, Christa came to pick us up after we parked at the gate since our car wouldn't have made it on the muddy road leading up to the lodge. Christa was so helpful during our stay, advising us on where to exchange money and helping us with the roads to take. A highlight of our stay at Wetlands Game Lodge was actually the food, especially the heavenly OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD fillet that melts in your mouth that was skillfully prepared by Chef Denzel. Dinner was waiting for us when we checked in around 10:30PM, and the fillet was still unbelievable! We ordered the same meat the next day, and we were pleased with the same quality. Also, Chef Denzel prepared a surprise cake for my husband as it was his birthday and Valentine's Eve as well, and the cake was excellent, too! Breakfast was decent and the latte was a great addition. We tried the couple massage with two ladies and were very pleased. We highly recommend this exceptional lodge and we hope to return soon!

Featuring garden views, Dream of Africa Bush Lodge in Marloth Park features accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and barbecue facilities. The Dream of Africa Bush Lodge is an amazing cozy lodge with 4 rooms. It is very well located in Marloth park within short driving distance to Kruger National Park (Crocodile Gate is only 25 min away). What sets this lodge apart from other lodges is that it is run with great care and love by its owners Val and Neil. They take great care of their guests, are very friendly, super responsive to any kind of questions, very knowledgable about the area with great tips, and the best of all is their home made food - absolutely delicious. If you plan your safari/game drive, contact them first. They have excellent contacts for the best safari tours in Kruger. Overall, we had an amazing time and would always come back!

Featuring pool with a view, garden and views of pool, Mhlati Guest Cottages is set in Malelane, 5.5 km from Leopard Creek Country Club. Great host, comfortable beds and super close to Kruger's gate. The room was spacious, had aircon and a kitchen, which was very useful for us. It's located in a very safe neighborhood with lots of beautiful trees around. It's perfect for those arriving after the gate closure. We left at 5 am to get in the park early and our host had some fruits and breakfast arranged for us to take with us. 100% recommend it.
