The island of Öland is vast and Kalmar Castle is located not far from the island. Accommodation is cheap, so don't expect any luxury.

Offering a quiet, private beach on the island of Öland, Mormors Pensionat Strandhagen is located in Stora Rör, 25 km from Kalmar city centre. WiFi and parking are free. Everything was just perfect: the house, the room, the personnel, the breakfast and Findus the dog. What was above any expectations was how beautiful the location was by the sea. Too bad we only had one night there.

This traditional, countryside hotel is in the Öland village of Kastlösa, 200 metres from Stora Alvaret’s limestone plain, a World Heritage site. It provides 2 free outdoor pools and a large garden. This hotel is definitely a gem of Öland. Very cosy, spacious and tidy room, great shared space with well-equipped kitchen. The personnel is super friendly. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant with traditional dishes cooked according to the recipe of the owner's family. A cold bottle of prosecco was delicious too. The breakfast was tasty and the restaurant is lovely. Perfect quality for the money.

Housed in an elegant 1930s villa, this hotel is in central Borgholm, Öland’s largest town. It offers free Wi-Fi and a large garden. All rooms have flat-screen TVs with satellite channels. Great location and great accomodation : free prking on the street, very good buffet breakfast, the room and the private bathroom were perfect and very quiet, with everything included. Very reccomended for a relaxing time.
