From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff like Nicholas, Margret, Tonje, Josh, and Maya who went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, with stunning views of the river and surrounding wilderness. The facilities at the hotel are top-notch, with everything we needed to relax and unwind after a day of outdoor activities. We particularly enjoyed the sauna and hot tub, which were perfect for soothing sore muscles. The food at the hotel was also excellent, with a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We appreciated the effort put into accommodating our dietary needs and preferences. What really set this hotel apart, however, was the attention paid to families with children. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient with our kids, and went above and beyond to make them feel welcome. They provided extra snow suits and boots for the kids, which was very helpful, and even had a special menu with kid-friendly options. Our children loved playing in the snow and exploring the nearby forest, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were safe and happy. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel on the Alta River for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway in Norway. The staff, facilities, and location are all top-notch, and the attention paid to families with children really made our stay special. We hope to return someday and experience it all again!

Good sized room very nicely appointed - encouraged to use slippers inside on arrival which adds to cosy nature of property. Service was excellent, as was breakfast and dinner. Complimentary tea/coffee available all day. Good spot for hiking and northern lights (if weather permits). Must be fantastic in winter.

Hotel iglu ini terletak 20 km dari pusat bandar Alta, di sepanjang Alta River. We loved our stay in the ice hotel. This year's theme was the greek pantheon and the sculptures were gorgeous. We stayed in a suit, which is well worth the upgrade. We did many hikes in the area and enjoyed our time here immensely. The staff were helpful and friendly, the food was exceptional, and both the main hotel and the ice hotel are stunning. The staff even let us know when northern lights were out! Thank you all for such a memorable stay.

The location is in the middle of nature next to the river so you can literally see Russia from your bedroom. As a birdwatcher, this is really paradise. The guesthouse is comfortable and clean with a spacious living area, outside deck and well equipped kitchen.

This was the highlight of my entire journey through the north – a truly exceptional hotel in every aspect. The room was impeccably clean, tastefully furnished, and had a warmth that contrasted beautifully with the snowy Arctic landscape outside. The name "The View" is no coincidence – the panorama from the windows is breathtaking. Although the restaurant at the hotel was closed in the evening, the staff had an agreement with a restaurant in town offering a 10% discount – a thoughtful and convenient touch. The dinner I had there was nothing short of exquisite: a creamy seafood soup and fresh local catch of the day – truly some of the best food I enjoyed in Norway. Breakfast the next morning? Absolutely the best I had on the whole trip. Fresh, generous, and served in a room flooded with morning light and framed by views of snow-covered mountains. The town of Honningsvåg itself is charming, with its working harbour, fishing boats, and colourful houses set against the stark white hillside. It felt like stepping into a painting.

The staff was so nice that she offered me early check in as I arrived at the airport early in the morning. I saw northern lights just in the hotel during my staying at the hotel. So lucky. :-)

He drove us to the port when our transport failed to arrive, stopped the boat for us and although offered money for his time and trouble he would not accept it as he advised he was there to help.
