The young boy was my favourite, we spent lot of time together and he is also an excellent driver. The lady is always smiling and great cook and the dad very helpful. I had a great stay and price was very good too. Very close to the lake and temple area.

If “off the beaten track” is what you’re after, this is the place. It’s a farm run by a beautiful family who have a well appointed set up for visitors. We chose this location being somewhat close to Somawathiya National Park. Unfortunately, the National Park is not open to the public so instead we visited Somawathiya Chaitya. A great traditional breakfast is included and our hosts went above and beyond to help us in any way they could. BTW - their English is not good but adequate with the assistance of translation apps.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the Hotel Siyathma. The hotel is conveniently located within 3 minutes to Stone Temple and the ancient buddhist gardens. We stayed in a family room which was clean and the beds were comfy coupled with the in room air-conditioning makes Hotel Siyathma the perfect base to explore Polonnaruwa. A personally highlight was freshesly cooked and delightfully tasty traditionally sinhalese food from the onsite restaurant, we had all our meals here whilst visiting Polonnaruwa as we didn't want to go anywhere else. If you are looking for friendly hospitality and a traditional Sri Lankan experience I would whole heartly recommend Hotel Siyathma for your stay in Polonnaruwa. 5 stars

I only stayed one night at this property but it is a beautiful property with great service. It’s first class all the way. Modern rooms, great staff, amazing views and close to safaris and other activities that one may be interested in. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth at the Lavendish Wild Safari!

Lavendish Lake Giritale is located in the Ancient City of Polanaruwa, overlooking the beautiful Giritale Lake. This is the wonderful hotel with great food and very friendly stuff - stayed there for an additional night

Situated in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, Mahanuge Hotel features an outdoor swimming pool and houses a restaurant. Guests also enjoy free Wi-Fi access at all public areas of the hotel. Extremely kind and polite staff, made our stay very pleasant. The restaurant has an excellent kitchen and our room at the top floor was very comfortable with a nice view on both sides of the property.
