Our stay with Maki, her Mother and Kenta dog was relaxing and magical after a week in Tokyo and Maki does absolutley everything to make you feel welcome and at home with her gentle, warm hospitality, The Ryokan itself is an elegant traditional building and is beautifully kept. The amazing Kaiseki dinner and breakfasts that Makis mother presents every night are a wonderful way to experience traditional japanese food after a relaxing onsen bath. Maki was simply the best host, she even drove us up to the start of our walk trail and booked our lunchtime soba restaurant. The local area is breathtaking even in late autumn / early winter and a walk around the shrines is enough to fill a very pleasant day, Wel ove you Maki and we will be back!

The quality of the dinner exceeded my expectations, and I truly appreciated the effort that went into making everything just right

Beautiful location with very attentive staff. Comfortable lounge area and the food was exceptional. The outdoor bath was constantly full of lovely hot water so we could enjoy at any time.

Opened in August 2012, B&B Hotel Hyochoan offers simple Western-style accommodations. Free in-room WiFi is available and guests can enjoy bird watching from the property’s terrace. Our hosts were a lovely couple who took the time to make us feel extremely welcome. The care and attention to detail were beyond anything we have experienced previously. The Japanese breakfast was exquisitely presented. The building was beautiful, and the surround gardens were tranquil with lots of bird sounds. We will definitely choose to stay here again.

Service was amazing and so accomodating, Onsen experience was great, room was traditional but very comfortable and the private onsen experience was great

Everything was great, the Matsumoto Jujo definitely is high class hotel. Especially we liked the chef, dinnres and breakfast were wonderful.

Hakuba Tokyu Hotel is an 8-minute drive from JR Hakuba Station and a 3-minute drive from Happo-One Bus Terminal. A free 2-way shuttle to both destinations is provided upon prior reservation. Great staff..bent over backwards to be helpful Spa was amazing Rooms fabulous

Located in the centre of Shibu hot-spring area and a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Train Station, Sakaeya offers Japanese-style accommodations. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere was very calming and relaxing, the staff great, and dinner and breakfast one of the best meals I’ve ever had. It was great that we got to use ryokan’s own onsen anytime and also visit the public baths. The room was also spacious and lovely. Definitely worth the price, big recommendation!:)
