Beautiful food for both dinner and breakfast. Public onsen was also excellent. One of us couldn't attend the public onsen due to extensive tattoos, but the option of a private onsen circumvented this issue.

The facilities were excellent. An Onsen was a two minute walk and a train station was 5 - 10 minutes. A lake was nearby and the local area was very pleasant. Access went well.

They give best quality of service. Thanks to their hospitality, I had a great trip during my stay.😆 When I have time, I’ll definitely come back and visit.

Situated just 26 km from Hikone Castle, Ryokan Beniayu features accommodation in Nagahama with access to an open-air bath, free bikes, as well as a lift. Incredible ryokan experience! We loved the tranquil scenery which overlooked Lake Biwa. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional and traditional. We stayed two nights and the meals were never repeated. We loved the in room outdoor onsen overlooking the lake and the massage chair was a nice touch. A very relaxing stay. The staff was very friendly and really tried to speak English to us. We had no communication barriers. Will definitely return and highly recommend this ryokan. Very memorable experience.

KAMENOI HOTEL Hikone provides a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 2.7 km of Hikone Castle and 6 km of Maibara Station. Amazing food, pleasant staff and great onsen. Frequent shuttles to and from train station was a plus.
