The hotel staff organised the shuttle bus for us even though it passed 6pm to ensure we made it to our dinner reservation. The food provided was 10/10, possibly one of the best meals we had in Japan ! And I forgot an item when I left the hotel, the staff just mailed it to my next hotel within the next day. Will definitely come back!

Situated just 26 km from Hikone Castle, Ryokan Beniayu features accommodation in Nagahama with access to an open-air bath, free bikes, as well as a lift. Incredible ryokan experience! We loved the tranquil scenery which overlooked Lake Biwa. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional and traditional. We stayed two nights and the meals were never repeated. We loved the in room outdoor onsen overlooking the lake and the massage chair was a nice touch. A very relaxing stay. The staff was very friendly and really tried to speak English to us. We had no communication barriers. Will definitely return and highly recommend this ryokan. Very memorable experience.

The place has amazing view and is very conveniently located for Kyoto sightseeing. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to Otsu station which is very convenient as it is located a little far from railway stations. The room had an air purify which was a pleasant surprise. Stayed for 4 nights, enjoyed it a lot.
