The family-owned Hótel Lækur is set on an Icelandic horse farm, between the Golden Circle and the south coast. Hella is 10 minutes’ drive away. It offers a sun terrace and a guest lounge. Lovely secluded location near a stream and a small forest. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel staff was really pleasant and attentive. They also have Aurora wake up service option which is great!

The cottage was very comfortable, warm, enough space inside and lots of space outside. Our son enjoyed playing with the dogs. Remote so good for Northern lights viewing (no light pollution). Close to Golden circle sights. I wish we were staying longer. The kitchen had everything necessary to prepare some dinner and breakfast (there is nothing close by, 20min to Selfoss).
