Situated in Rio Dulce, 5.5 km from Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, Hotel Real del Rio features views of the pool. Great shower! Hot water and good water pressure. We arrived at 1 in the morning and check in was no problem. We even got cold bottled water. Beds were very comfy. Didn't use the pool but looked nice.

This is an amazing and unique stay. The only way to get to it is by boat and with that, you already know you're in for something unique. The staff were very helpful and helped us with whatever we needed. We stayed in the shared dormitory and it was just amazing

Hotel El Reformador is located in Puerto Barrios. Featuring a garden, the 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. It was centrally located near harbor restaurants. We felt safe there. They had English speaking staff at the front desk and they arranged an English speaking taxi for us that arrived promptly at 6:00 a.m. The room was clean and had plenty of hot water. The building felt very safe.

Nanajuana Río Dulce has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and bar in Río Dulce. Among the various facilities of this property are a shared lounge, a garden and barbecue facilities.... Breakfast was delicious and prices were comparable to restaurants outside of hotel. Hotel also offered an hour or two (don't remember clearly) of free little foot paddling boats, which was fun to pass the time. The hotel is nice and secure as well with security outside of resort. Loved that they were pet friendly as well, so I got to bring my pup along!

Facing the beachfront, Finca Tatin Hotel offers 4-star accommodation in Lámpara and has a fitness centre, garden and private beach area. Excellent ecolodge with lots of activities to do in the area. On-site restaurant is caters to any diet and family meals are available every evening so guests can socialize together. Splendid experience for me as a solo traveler. If you are the type to blowdry hair or require internet this is not the right place for you.
