There are so many things about this hotel that are exceptional, but first and most of all are the people who work there. Such kindness, patience and catering is deserving of more than a 10. And this grade is because of them. Especially I would like to mention Liana who has done everything and beyond to make it a great stay for us. Furthermore, this hotel's location is perfect if you want to have a great relaxing get-away vacation. It connects straight onto a beach and is a short taxi ride to Rethymno core town, or you can have a 30minute stroll down the strand (all the way along the beach). As we expected from Greek cuisine, the food was fantastic, but what made it better was all the options we had during breakfast and dinner time - ranging from savory, both for meat lovers and vegans to sweet (those strawberry tarts were insanely good) a lot of variation every day. We were there for 10 days and never got bored with the food (actually gained some nice sea-vacation weight :D ) The hotel has a modern design, which might for some things be limiting, but it s nothing that the hotel's staff cannot take care for you, so you can have the best holiday stay! The catering is professional and amazing, from the hotel area to the double pool area and straight down to the beach. You can lie down comfortably in sunbeds, get your cocktails served directly to you and enjoy the sun and seaairwithout moving a finger, and have your perfectly deserved lazy vacation. Speaking of Sun, Rhetymno must have some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world - don't miss out on sitting at the beach in the evening, with a glass of vine at your side and enjoy the sun setting in. Even though the hotel itself is some way from both of the airports - hotel can organize a pick up/drop off ride for you or it is easy as well to book a taxi online with many respectible services.

Featuring free WiFi and a seasonal outdoor pool, Menta City Boutique Hotel offers accommodation in Rethymno Town. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar and sunny roof-top breakfast area. I was upgraded from a standard room to a room with balcony. The view was amazing. Also great view from the top floor dining area where they serve delicious traditional breakfast. George the host was extremely helpful and friendly. 12/10

Boasting a shared lounge and free WiFi, Cocoon City Hostel is set in Chania Town. The property is close to Mitropoleos Square, Municipal Art Gallery of Chania and Historical Museum of Chania. Great size hostel with two kitchens. Very spacious and clean. Lots of organised excursions if you wanted to book onto those, and a WhatsApp group for meeting other hostel guests.

Just 50 metres from the beach and 1 km from Rethymno Town, Archipelagos Hotel is set on a hillside with panoramic views over the Cretan Sea and the Venetian Castle. The balcony and the view from all rooms are spectacular. The staff and owner are wonderful!

Featuring an a la carte restaurant, Elafonisi Resort by Kalomirakis Family is set amidst a garden with olive trees. Well equiped room for visiting the best island in Crete, Elafonisi! We had our own parking and as soon as you walk out of the resort, you start your walk to this amazing beach! There isn't anything around the town so thankgooness they had their own restaurant where we ate fantastic Greek food at very affordable prices. They even do breakfast! There is also a supermarket up the road (mini one across the road but pricey) Would recommend if you are visiting the beach especially as sunbeds are sold out by 10am, you can walk down at 9am to purchase, leave your towels there and head down later during the day. The host was wonderful too! Cannot fault this place at all!

Aphrodite Beach Hotel is located on the sandy beach of Mavros Molos in Kissamos. It features a swimming pool, umbrellas and sunbeds on the beach and offers free WiFi throughout. The Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was great. The rooms was great as well. The beach area is not the best, but well worth the price.

Located on the famous beach of Kalamaki, just 5 kilometres west of Chania and the charming Venetian Harbour, Corinna Mare is built on a peninsula which overlooks the island of Theodorou. The receptionist made our stay so much better since she helped us with our itinerary and was really kind. The property was right on the beach, with convenient location close to Chania, the restaurant was exceptional and the whole place was really clean! We will definitely come back!
