With a picturesque setting on the banks of the River Dee, this charming Scottish mansion dates back to 1225 AD, and was once home to the Knights Templar. Location was great! Beautiful river and historical garden and ruins made our stay very nice.

The breakfast the following morning was delicious, filling and enjoyed in the company of other guests, who were almost as charming as Pete, the owner. Pete was a gregarious and personable host, who took time to listen to us and ensure that our stay went beyond our expectations. We will visit Kilmorie House again.

Struan House is a lovely old house in the centre of sea-side Buckie. The hosts are delightful, and offered me lots of details to make my 3-night stay as comfortable as possible. Although it is a ‘pet-friendly’ establishment, it was very well-cleaned and my allergies were not triggered. It was a good base for my explorations of north-east Scotland. Lots of interesting breakfast conversation from the international guests, many of whom were starting the Speyside Way or riding bikes. Thanks Robert and Giffy for a wonderful stay!
