Absolutely brilliant hosts, brilliant food, lovely setting beside river, very comfortable room, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We loved it. The Sunday roast was amazing, the beef just melted when you cut it. Breakfast was a feast of Scottish flavours. The whole ambience was just superb. Thank you Michelle, Beth and Chris for your hospitality.

Set in 18 acres of private parkland, Hetland Hall Hotel serves local produce on its Scottish menu. Overlooking the Solway Firth, this hotel also has an outdoor children’s playground. Location was a bit remote but in lovely countryside, not far from the bay. We loved the room. It was big and comfortable with a small sitting area off the bedroom. Bath was lovely and well appointed and up do date technology. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent. Breakfast was good too. Close to Castle Douglas and lovely gardens near the castle. We would recommend this hotel
