The most important aspect was Kristi herself. I had a medical emergency when I was there. Despite it being at night Kristi was right on it. Took me to the emergency room and waited there with us. There is nothing more important when traveling than a host who will go above and beyond like she did when we really needed her. I couldn’t find any of the info I needed online so her help was absolutely critical.

Grand Hotel Viljandi is a four-star hotel that combines timeless elegance with modern amenities, offering guests cozy accommodation in the old town of Viljandi. This older hotel is a hidden gem- for the price we got a large room with a view of the park- very quiet inside and out- within walking distance of the old historical townsite- nice walk down to the water - 176 steps each way!! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the sauna is only open on the weekend so it was not available during our stay. However, the staff were very kind to give us a tour of the sauna area- super clean and very nice- steam room, hot pool, dry sauna- The breakfast was to die for- presented very tastefully- so much to choose from. Highly recommend this hotel

An excellent choice if you're independent and able to care for yourself, yet good for anyone appreciating history and beauty, too. We got a decent sized, comfy, clean room with skylight. Well-equipped kitchen and bathroom shared with other tenants. Lovely, private garden to enjoy. Everything well kept and clean. Lovely original details of the old timber house lovingly spared and displayed. Staff was most friendly and eager to assist. Definitely our choice in the future too!

Conveniently located on the third floor of the Centrum shopping centre, this modern hotel can easily be found in the centre of Viljandi. The breakfast was exceptional.
