We had a fantastic time at Valter & Dritas and found it to be great value! It is located in the hills, just above Theth and provides stunning views of the valley. A peaceful and tranquil environment to relax in. The guesthouse is run by the family, who are excellent hosts and very genuine lovely people. They provided breakfast and dinner throughout our time there, which was home cooked and delicious. There was a good range of food available and we enjoyed slowly exploring the menu during our time there. We had 3 full days in Theth, during which we hiked the Valbona Pass, Blue Eye Kaprre and Grunas waterfall. Valbona Pass, is a tough but stunning walk which is well worth the effort. The Blue Eye was excellent too, the water was crisp and refreshing, the perfect respite from the Albanian heat. This walk is deceptively challenging and we’d recommend getting a taxi to the drop off location. Grunas waterfall was a fun hike and slightly less demanding after the other hikes. They have fresh spring water at the guesthouse which is safe to drink, so no need to bring bottled water with you. There are cute dogs, cats and chickens around the residence. If you like to sleep in, I’d bring ear plugs as the cockerels do their thing in the mornings. Overall, we had a great time. Whether you are looking for exciting and challenging hikes around the Albanian Alps or just want to unwind and relax in the hills.

Everything was spotless and the view was stunning. Breakfast and dinner were homemade, delicious, and very traditional. The hosts were kind, always helpful, and shared interesting stories about Theth. The rooms were very clean and warm inside. The garden is big, with beautiful green grass perfect for relaxing or camping, and at night the sky is crystal clear full of stars. The place is very near the main locations you want to visit like “The Tower of Ngujm” and the “Gruna Waterfall”, also the cute church is like 3 minutes away by foot. They even have games for guests. Truly a 10/10 experience – highly recommended!
