The staff staff, the location, the bed and the pillows. The large shared terrace outside of my room great for relaxing after a day of touring. The hotel was very quiet despite being in the center of town and close the port.

Location was perfect and having a pool to jump in when it is so humid was awesome! The office was closed a little too early to be as helpful as I would prefer, but that was ok. The location was very walkable to the ferries, restaurants, tours, etc.

Our room directly out across the bay. We were one floor up and easily watched the sunrise and the street and pier wake up - that includes sea lions. Bed was comfortable, shower strong water flow. Staff helpful and friendly. We’ll return!

Puerto Barquerizo Moreno is a great center of San Cristobal...
Puerto Barquerizo Moreno is a great center of San Cristobal where you encounter sea lions on the beach along the main street. It is also full of charming restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops where prices are more reasonable than Santa Cruz.

I enjoyed walking in direction to Bahia Tijeretas, Playa Baquerizo, Playa La Loberia, Las Negritas view and also to the local mine near the airport. The evening / dinner in The Pier restaurant was excellent. The afternoon trip to El Junco volcano, Galapaguera de Cerro Colorado was not worth the money, although swimming near Playa Puerto Chino was nice.

I came for a volunteer trip during which we did the 360 boat...
I came for a volunteer trip during which we did the 360 boat tour (snorkeling in 3 locations) and a trip to the highlands together (2 separate days). I stayed 3 extra days alone, which is either not enough or just enough depending on what you want to do. I do NOT recommend staying the entire time on San Cristobal because you’ll run out of things to do but I found out too late that a day trip to Santa Cruz is better if you can dedicate 1.5-2 full days (depart a 7 am and return the next morning or afternoon). A same day trip only gives you about 7 hours before you have to return. To go to Isabela requires 2 separate boat trips and at least half a day (not sure about Española but it is currently closed). You can visit all the major beaches in 1-2 days but anything else on the island requires a booked boat trip so if you want to snorkel in every single spot you need to spend probably 5 days minimum. Snorkeling every single day isn’t for me so depending on your interests, plan accordingly.
Except for Playa Mann, most of the beaches are a little far and/or require a hike over lava rocks to access so bring good walking shoes over sandals if you have to pick.
Overall after 3 more days I was bored and ready to leave, but if I had more time to visit the other islands I would probably have felt differently!

The town is compact and convenient for travelers.
The town is compact and convenient for travelers. Only 10 minutes walk from the airport to downtown. Most of hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, beaches locate within a 10-15 minutes walk distance. Beaches are full of wild animals such as sea lions, pelicans, iguanas, crabs, and fishes. The climate is quite comfortable. Safe to walk even in night time.

It is a nice, peaceful city. People is friendly and helpful. Local authorities have a good Information Office that is ready to help you to get around. Restaurant Giuseppe is exceptionally good. Sea wolves will be found in every beach and giant Galapagos turtles can be seen in a nursery, designed for conservation. There are nice natural places reachable with a short walk. There are good places for diving and snorkeling.

I liked Playa Mann a lot.
I liked Playa Mann a lot. Very convenient and economical for lunch and coffee. Lots of sea lions which are tame! A great way to get around is to hire a bike......about 15 bucks per day. Great walks and sightseeing via El Centro de Interpretation. This is the starting point for some great beaches and snorkelling.

Very clean and large room. Location right on beach and centrally located. Hotel is just a couple of blocks from the pier where you catch the ferries to other islands. No need to get transportation to pier. We left before breakfast on two days and they left a sweet sack breakfast for us on the table that we could grab on the way out! Just let them know ahead of time that you will not be there for breakfast. Air conditioning worked well and bath was large.
Frankly, i don't understand why are the reviews of this place so negative. Well, it's not a five star hotel but it hasn't even been said to be like that. It is actually just 4 rooms above a travel agency. It is clean, cheap and located in the city center. It has wifi, air conditioning, comfy beds, drinking water available and towels included. No kitchen or lobby/hanging area. It's well worth the price. Can 100% recommend for all budget travellers.
The place is unique, with island decorations everywhere. The breakfast is incredible, with lots of different foods and options. The room was clean. The place was very safe. The hotel pays for your taxi to the airport which was appreciated. The owners were very helpful when they were there. The Wi-fi was OK most of the time, but like any other Galapagos hotel, slow and spotty, but you manage.
Loved the family atmosphere! Romy and his family were very helpful and welcoming. The hostel was super clean, 3- 5 minute maximum walk to center, very very quiet and safe feeling. The breakfast was good and priced well but it is basically the same menu - eggs, toast, fruit, juice, coffee - everyday which you find in all the hotels here. I definitely would stay here again.
Located only two blocks from the beach, this hotel feels very comfy and friendly. It has a super cute courtyard with some hammocks to hang out in and also includes a small kitchen and refrigerator should you want or need to store and cook food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Outdoor area to hang wet clothes and rinse off after the beach.
The hotel was family run and everyone was super helpful.
We got a room on the 2nd floor with hammocks outside our door and a beautiful view of the water. Small hotel. 7 minutes walking distance to main strip. Wonderful bakery for breakfast 1/2 block away. Water provided. Clean and comfortable and hot showers. Def. Stay here!
Its a very unique place. An art gallery as much as an ecologically conscious hotel. As for basics everything worked perfectly whether showers or AC. Room/s were good size and bathrooms were spotless. David the owner/artist is a very pleasant and helpful person. It's astonishing that one-man did all the amazing tile work/art.
This place is perfect. The hosts, the room, the food, the bed and the location. You leave the hotel and 2 minutes later you are on a beautiful sandy beach with sea lions and iguanas. When you get hot there is a restaurant with nice food and drinks. The hosts are the nicest people and very knowledgeable.
Spacious Room, comfortable beds, safe in room, small fridge in room. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The breakfast was in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. The breakfast was good. You are only a few blocks from the Santa Crystobal downtown area. I would recommend staying at this hotel!
Jean Carlos and his mother were very helpful and friendly during our stay in Galápagos. The house was very clean and comfortable, and it came with all the services we needed. Also, Jean Carlos was very helpful with recommendations for things to do in San Cristobal.
The hotel and staff could not have been more convenient. We relaxed by the pool before we walked to three different beaches for snorkeling. We were steps away from the cutest little town in the Galapagos, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. Thanks for everything, Tatiana!
The purified tap water is a huuuge plus.
The entire hotel is cozy and you can feel that the hosts are putting an extra effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Nice interior design.
Great breakfast.
Many shops and the market in close proximity.
Very clean and modern hotel in city centre. Walking distance from the airport however taxi cost only 2usd. Room very spacious with comfortable bed. All amenities present. Simple breakfast included. Nice pool and jacuzzi available.
The hotel runs by a local family which shows much care for their guests. The rooms are renovated and they are very clean and spacious.
The breakfast was good the staff was helpful and very welcoming..
The hotel manager was wonderful - went totally above and beyond. Very happy to give advice about sightseeing and arrange taxis. She even lent our kids her family's boogie board to take to the beach!
Hotel Katarma was kept to a good standard. The rooms were clean, the pool area albeit small was very nice. The owner and the staff that we met were very helpful and friendly.
This place is unique and really perfect to enjoy Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. This hotel is really charming, incredibly well decorated and the view is amazing !
