The remote location gave us the ability to see the northern lights like no other. It was amazing! The apartment itself is very modern and chic. The host was very responsive and even allowed us for early check in which was very kind. Great place, we look forward to stay there again.

Gardur is a small town ... with a wonderful Lighthouse that is very photogenic ... no traffic ... no crowds. Gardur is a very limited for restaurants and other services ... but an excellent choice if you want to explore the Reykjanes Peninsula ... and close to the airport.

For me, the Garður Apartments were ideal: there was a kitchen area to prepare food (because there are no nearby restaurants), the area was quiet except for calling birds, and I enjoyed walking to lighthouse that is about 20 minutes' walk away. The airport is roughly a 15-minute drive away, and so easy to reach with a car.WesleyUnited States of America

There is minimal light pollution in the area around the hotel, increasing the chances of viewing the Northern Lights. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and gave off a Finnish log cabin vibes. There is ample parking space. Breakfast was also good, with decent vegetarian/vegan options. The room did get very warm at night, and we lowered the thermostat/opened the windows for some relief.

Hotel is relatively short drive to the airport, good if you are using it for the last night and have a early flight next morning, but far away from Reykjavik and other touristy places. Nice and friendly staff in reception and restaurant, they prepared us lovely breakfast boxes to go, as we left early in the morning (before breakfast started)
