The room was beautifully styled and very clean, a particular note for the fab water pressure in the shower. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious as well!

I went just at the start of the Easter break, and it was nice and quiet, I imagine it being a popular summer resort. Good facilities with plenty of eateries. Travelling around Southend was okay, gets busy during rush-hour. Great long walks along the esplanade and the pier. A lot of the shops were closed during close-season.AAnonymous - 4.0Scored 4.0

I lived in Southend for many years, this was a visit to see family and attend a family gathering. The town (I will never call it a city) is a shadow of its former self. I wouldn't go to Southend unless I had a specific reason, it just isn't as welcoming as it used to be and the high street is dead. In the summer, short break with young children who want no more than the beach and this place would be ok. There are some decent restaurants but stay out of the town centre for those.

Although it’s over a busy Wetherspoons pub, our room was quiet and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a very large twin room with a good-size bathroom. The furnishing was basic but the beds were comfortable. It was convenient to be able to have meals and drinks in the Pub downstairs.
