The room was very comfortable, beautiful. It had everything we needed. We could even have room service, which we didn't. I really liked the way to communicate. Via WhatsApp, you have all the information you need, such as locations of the premises, menus of the restaurants, etc. You can communicate with staff, make reservations, or send an order via WhatsApp.

Nice pool, reasonable priced room, walking distance to several stores (Naybayz was open late!) and restaurants (Queen bean, Ella's cool spot, and JJ's were amazing!), private cabana, clean facilities, gated community with parking outside. Small kitchenette with a toaster, fridge, microwave, old school hot plate (with pans available), and dishes. The concierge, Solomon, was super helpful and very responsive for organizing tours. He also helped us get into our room when we got confused as to which cabana we were staying in. We messaged through Whatsapp ahead of time to book scuba and snorkeling excursions. Hopkins is a linear village maybe 7 miles long paralleling the sea. There are some high end resorts but local guest rooms predominate. Residents never failed to assist us in finding taxis, food stores or support services. The food was excellent whether it was consumed in a resturant, local bar or kitchen hut. Bicycles are very helpful in getting around. We found a really nice mix of folks. Don't miss the Garifuna music and food.

Hopkins is a small, rural town - one paved road that goes the length of the town plus a few unpaved roads. So, if you are looking for a small beach town with very friendly people, Hopkins may be for you. There is a good grocery store and several good dining options. Hopkins was a great home base for us for a few days as we explored a couple national parks in the area.Cz - 10Scored 10
Peaceful, out of the way.
Peaceful, out of the way. Needed to rent a golf cart for greater variety of dining and grocery shopping but that is what our family likes. Very low key place. People are very kind and friendly. Quiet place to relax and enjoy the beach.

Hopkins Bay Smoky Bar & Grill (Barbara and Richard) were super kind! Maxim's gave us great deals too. Ella's and Driftwood were popular spots. Nice Cream was delicious. Rhum Shack at the resort were delicious. We could walk everywhere! We rented a car to get from BZE to Hopkins, which helped a lot so we could travel to other places. Loot at Erik and Luis' Maayan Ruin/Cave Tubing on Viator (1:30 hour drive). I suggest Seahorse Dive Shop about 1:20 hours away for scuba diving/snorkeling, too.

The helpful and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. We always looked forward to the fresh catch of the day for dinner, especially the lobster Thermidor. My wife and I liked the closeness to the beach and pool and the size of the complex which was only 19 three unit buildings, and the ratio or staff to guests. We went on two excursions, one to the Mayan ruins and one horseback riding in the rain forest. Both were well worth the trip.BarbaraUnited States of America - 6.0Scored 6.0

Too expensive with very little to offer. This is good for people who plan to just chill and not do much. Go south (closer to the Jaguar Reef area) for better waters and restaurants, but be prepared to spend lots

Local Mayan cocoa farm Che'il (where Prince William and Kate visited) accessible by local bus - highly recommended. Enjoyed Thongs Cafe on seafront. Cycled to Rhum Bar at Hopkins Bay Resort (north) and enjoyed drinks/eats at reasonable prices. Super bakery - bright pink door, on the way out of town south.

It‘s in the very centre of Hopkins, near everything you need: restaurants, bars, beach, bus stop, ATM (that surprisingly worked the day we were there!). They have a small number of simple, but well kept. and equipped private rooms additional to their dorms, who group around an open kitchen and lounge area, which was always filled with life.
