Really liked Durango. I chose for its access to the incredible Soaring Tree Top adventures which has 27 zip lines in the San Juan forest and over the Animas river - breathtaking, spectacular and expensive (but worth it ). Some great tours and activities available - Mesa Verde is astonishing and wonderful. Lovely small friendly town. Lots of good places to eat (11th st station food trucks were great) and drink. An amazing train rise up to Silverton with spectacular views.

Durango is a wonderful city.
Durango is a wonderful city. It has stunning views of the Rocky Mountains (snow capped in June 2024). Beautiful city, very clean city, and the City crews were picking up trash each morning from the trash cans. Excellent city!

Durango was great.
Durango was great. The riverwalk through the heart of town is great - watch out for bicycles though! If you drive 2-3 hours in any direction you can see some of the most beautiful places in the country. North into the San Juan Mountains, East through the mountains to Great Sand Dunes, West to Mesa Verde, Arches, Canyonlands, and Monument Valley, and South to Santa Fe.

I lived in the Durango area for several years and had to move away. This was another revisit. The main attraction is the railroad. I have taken the Cascade run and it is a wonderful experience. I believe Durango has a good mix of acitivites for young and old. There are so many great restaurants and children appear to be welcome. It is a tourist town, yet I have always found that customer service is great wherever I go. There are galleries and books stores and toy stores. There is so much history to glean with exciting stories of the settlers and the miners in the area. Then of course, the outdoor activities are year round and endless. The mountain views are topped only by the ones in Ouray and Silverton in this area.

Durango is a charming old western town with a fun vibe.
Durango is a charming old western town with a fun vibe. Great for cycling and other outdoor sports.
We liked The Office for dinner and live music. We were surprised we couldn’t find good Mexican food.
Excellent location- just 2 blocks from the main strip and historic center of Durango, but also easy access to the river-walk path. Only a 10-15 walk from the Durango dog park, which was EXCELLENT! We did not use our car to get around at all, we were able to walk everywhere.
The room was clean and comfortable, the parking lot is well lit, and the hotel is very close to 2 grocery stores as well. We travelled with 2 dogs and there was no additional fees for them.
Very friendly staff and easy check in process.
Good hotel. It's pretty new, modern and clean - as are the rooms. Parking is free. The rooms are not overly large but adequate. The equipment is good and the beds are comfy. It's nothing exciting, just a really good, basic hotel. It's situated a bit outside city center but you'll be on main street in like 5 minutes by car. Would absolutely stay here again, also given that the number of nice hotels in the region is not too high.
The location is spot on. It is right next to the Durango/Silverton Train so you don't have to purchase a parking permit for the train. It is located in Historic Downtown Durango. Close to great restaurants and shops. The evening front desk clerk Rayanne is very friendly and extremely helpful. Parking behind the hotel is included. Keurigs with four pods are provided in the room along with 2 bottle of waters.
Location ideal for trip on DURANGO & Silverton railway being a 12 minute walk from terminus plus good to get in house breakfast. Enjoyed sitting on riverside terrace in the evening. Our allocated room was directly on the busy highway but on enquiry the desk clerk changed this without any fuss. Room was large, clean, well equipped and comfortable. On site parking was an additional bonus.
In a tourist town where the hampton inn was charging $289 it was a pleasant surprise. We have been visiting Durango for the past 30 years. And it is still lovely. But getting a little more pricey. Nice outdoor spaces and clean and for the most part quiet rooms. Just across from the animas and a 2 mile walk to downtown on the river walk.
I liked the location, Woke up to beautiful site of mountains. I took the room with the road side view. Walmart, Dominos were closed by. There is a Park for kids which was not too far from hotel. The LakeNight horse was also very close by. The city of Durango (Downtown) was around 5 mins drive
Perfect downtown location. Convenient and easy parking lots. Fun bars with nice live music and good drinks and food, Friendly adventurous clientele. Stayed in upper King room which was beautiful, maybe a bit cramped, but plenty good!! This would be our place to stay whenever in Durango!
I am a clean freak and I found the hotel met my standards. The staff were friendly and helpful. Chef Ralph and his crew always had a great breakfast waiting and were very attentive to the guests. Overall a good experience. My wife and I would stay there again.
The hotel is really nice and we were able to walk to the train and downtown restaurants. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Room had everything we needed. Happy hour bartender was good at getting drinks out and kept up with orders.
Super hotel. Easy check in. Super friendly staff. The room was extremely clean, spacious, and modern. The bed was comfortable and clean A decent breakfast included, they even had eggs/bacon. . A wonderful stay. Highly recommend in Durango, CO.
Proximity - Right on the river and close to historic downtown. Despite the hotel shortcomings, the staff member mentioned previously did seem very pleasant.
