Did you know Melia hotel staff was asking me 5USD for the key card accidently lost. I told him I was not willing to pay so he checked with his manager (I could mention his name here). His manager said to me that is Melia hotel policy! WOW! I work in oil & gas industry, travel everywhere Asia America Africa Europe Australia.
This is the first time the hotel staff tried to rip off. But I didn't pay, I was 100% i left my key in my room, so get a new key went up grab my key in the hotel and came back straightaway. Handed 5USD key card back to the hotel staff.
After a couple of days I met the manager again and confirm "that is what Melia hotel.management is implementing ".
So twp things
1 stay away from the Melia OR
2 keep your key card safe
I will do the first one because I always misplace my key card.
It is up to you.

it's a city with lots or remembrances about the colonial times, overall in a very poor condition and in dire need of several infrastructure projects. The list of sightseeings consists of temples and markets, so... to my taste it's void. One day of walks through the city center will give you a proper taste of Yangon and there's not much left to do. Even the military museum got moved to Nay Pyi Taw.

Museum very interesting, Swedagon pagoda exceptional
Plenty of restaurants for all tastes
Yangon have a lot of best place to visit. For Muslims, just find any Halal Restaurant, my choice is Phai Lin Halal really clean and good food. In Yangon, very easy to get GrabCar and really cheap rate to everywhere. Please ensure you bring USD and change Myanmar money at Airport or money changer booth only, no change at local people very expensive. Only few people can speak English, most of them not understand basic English. However, Yangon is best city to visit.

Vibrant city for all seasons.
Vibrant city for all seasons. I love green and the country's largest economic city still have many trees all over. There are many delicious street food in Yangon too. Selling price is amazingly low that my colleagues and I extremely enjoyed.
Lovely ambience. Incredibly helpful staff who helped me on my issue with my luggage at the airport. They provided a packed breakfast for my very early flight and helped to book a cab to the airport. Food at the breakfast area was great with a lovely combination of Burmese food and Singaporean food which was a definite plus. Shopping mall was connected to the hotel. Bogyoke market was directly opposite the hotel. Shwedagon Pagoda was 5 minutes away. Room was incredibly spacious and faced the river on one side of the building.
I travelled a lot of countries already. While I was doing Asian tour this time, I left something at the hotel and was travelling to other countries already. I like how they manage and correspond on how my things that was left to send back to me.
I like their breakfast and they will do their best to help you with all your daily needs. We feel safe while we are staying at the hotel.
Spoon, the hotel's buffet restaurant, offers a wide variety of delicious food, especially the Chinese cuisine. We often saw the executive chef personally inspecting the restaurant, and our family felt that he was very attentive to every detail of the food. In the morning, the chef greeted my wife and daughter, and we found him to be very gentlemanly.
The room is very spacious & sparkly clean. Staffs are super helpful & friendly. Internet is fast, I was able to watch Netflix from the tv without any glitch. Hotel has a great location as it is near to the main road with lots of shops around. Had a enjoyable stay indeed.
Hotel next to the shwedagon pagoda ( 15minutes walk ), so good location however far far from a bit downtown, but taxies are available so all good . Staff were super nice and helpful, rooms were big and clean . But as expected the hotel was empty due to the situation…

The location by the airport is perfect for early morning flights. The room is basic but clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Check in was quick and simple, and the complimentary airport transfer was very convenient, especially at 5am.
Good hotel to stay in Yangon. Nearby with mini mart and easy to get Grab Car. Nice big room, clean and comfort. Rooftop bar & swimming pool with best town view. Always be my first choice when visit to Yangon. Value for money.
The hotel is quite well located in downtown Rangoon, the staff was nice, the room had spiderwebs in the ceiling and nearby the toilet (I do not think that it is difficult to get rid of them)... Breakfast was fulfilling...
Nice hotel: spacious room, good hot water pressure, dry neat and tidy. Very friendly staff! One of the hotel staff Kaung Khant kindly helped me to order bus tickets and buy a local SIM card.
Super clean facilities, great location close to downtown and the major pagodas, and the staff (along with everyone I met in Myanmar) were some of the nicest people I’ve met in the world
All was perfect! Breakfast was delicious with a good choice of dishes, room and bed were comfortable, location is convenient.
