Everything was good even before we got there and calling the receptionist was very welcoming and when we arrived even though late but it didn't hinder her profesionalism

I am not so much a fan of Port Antonio town but the area of Portland is my favourite as it’s so beautiful and peaceful. I always stay longer in the part of the island as it’s so wonderful to come from a big city like a London to this peaceful paradise.

We didn't spend a lot of time in the town of Port Antonio, but did have a delicious fish and lobster dinner at Roots 21. We mostly went to the beaches near fairy hill and Zion hill. Taxis are plentiful but we chose to use Polish Princess charter service as it was raining and or dark when we went out for dinner.

The main problem being in port Antonio is transportation if you are not driving. because it is not a tourist area like montego Bay or Negill, you may have difficulty reaching there or when you are Leaving!! I have been here about six times now And that is the biggest problem. There are great restaurants here with great food food along the area near Boston beach. Even though the jerk centers are not always that greatest according to reputation. the jerk restaurant right at the Boston beach Guest house entrance was excellent also also Rocky's fried chicken was good. I don't recall the names of a few of the other restaurants!!

Port Antonio is very charming place to visit in Jamaica.
Port Antonio is very charming place to visit in Jamaica. The town itself is very lively, and the surrounding area has lots of outdoor attractions do including, Frenchmans, cove, blue Lagoon, horseback riding, and more.
Be aware, however, that the roads are rough! There was construction going on as of late November 2023 when we visited. So we were stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic at one point while they closed the road. There is only one main road and one lane each direction so getting around takes some time, even tough the distance between attractions may seem short.
Also have your wits about you when interacting with street vendors, they may overcharge you. So ask for prices upfront and calculate your total before handing over any cash. We got ripped off and wound up paying $1,000 JMD for a fritter, Callaloo and breadfruit but it was our fault for not double checking the total.

I love the parish of Portland and always enjoy being in Port Antonio. Decent, kind, welcoming people and the many attractions to visit and beaches to visit.
I am just hoping they fix the roads sooner than later.
Boston Beach Guesthouse was a great place to stay. It has a sign so it is easy to find from the road, literally the driveway right before Boston Bay Beach Park. We had a private room with its own bathroom. The wifi worked great on the ground floor. You can see a view of the ocean from the balcony. A delicious home made breakfast was provided each morning. There is parking on site and access using stairs down to the white sandy beach. The beach is good for swimming, snorkeling, and occasionally surfing.
Fantastic, relaxing atmosphere and amazing staff. Beautiful location in the mountains, but also very close to gorgeous beaches. Very quiet at night with only the sounds of nature. The meals were delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Nastassia took care of me like I was family. She went above and beyond to help me when I got sunburned, peeling fresh aloe for me. When I got into a minor car accident she helped me cover the broken car window so rain wouldn't get into my rental car.
The views are beautiful from the top apartment. The place was nicely decorated and had a homey feel. Had a decent little kitchen to cook meals. Big doors that opened to the balcony with views and windows all over. On days where there is a nice breeze you do not need a fan or AC. Richard who is from JA was extremely kind and hospitable and helped ease my stress after a long trip and drive to Port Antonio from Kingston.
Moon San Villa is a very small, though friendly and cosy Villa with a wonderful staff. Each morning, we could choose our own breakfast style and enjoyed it in the dining area overlooking the famous blue lagoon. The Villa itself is located in the northeast of Jamaica, not so touristic with not very maintained roads, yet beautiful beaches. Worth staying a few nights if you like it quiet and laid-back.
We had a wonderful time and immediately felt at home thanks to the owners, Lloyd and Kate, who are delightful people and very caring hosts. Breakfast time on the terrace was very special as Lloyd and Kate prepare something that includes a local flavor and there is always time to talk. This is more like visiting friends than staying in a hotel -- a rare and wonderful thing!
The Jamaica Palace is our favorite go to hotel in Port Antonio. The grounds are beautifully kept, the pool is complete serenity, the lobby is elegant, the breakfasts artistic and delightful. Shout out to Morgan who made our birthday guy feel so special, and our attentive breakfast guy server 💖 Highly recommended this place for your special getaway.
This is a well maintained, clean, secure and quiet guest house in a beautiful location with ample parking. The included breakfasts were delicious. The owner of the guest house Barbara was gracious, knowledgeable and accommodating.
I would definitely stay here again when in the Port Antonio area.
The guesthouse was very nice and was sentral in Port Antonio. The owner and the manager were very nice people. We stayed for one week and had a good time. The room had aircondition, so it was cool and nice in the night. Hopefully we can come back next time we are in Port Land.
The apartment is located in the hills above Port Antonio but not far from the town centre and was therefore near enough to everything one may need during a stay.
It also contained the comforts of home, eg, a full kitchen with all the essential appliances.
Stefano very graciously helped me check in in the middle of the night as my flight landed at 2 in the morning. He is very knowledgeable of all the shortcuts to local beaches, and will even walk you there! Plus same day laundry service
It was my first time in Port Antonio so I was expecting the property to be on the beach with beach access and views. I had to leave a few hours after checking in so I didn't get a chance to enjoy anything
Loved the decor in the room, looked exactly like the pics. My husband & I love dogs and there I believe 4 on the property & they were so sweet. The beach is very close and a bar for drinks.
All the staff were incredible, so helpful - welcoming and friendly, always available. They felt like friends by the end of our stay and made our time in Port Antonio extra special
A wonderful little hostel run by a friendly Italian owner! Close to the beaches with good bathrooms and a nice communal kitchen! I enjoyed my time here in Port Antonio
Very clean, modern and well presented. The host was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place as a base for touring the attractions in Portland.
