A wonderful place for a peaceful holiday in the heart of Alpine nature. Great location in a quiet part of town. Very nice owners. Trouble-free parking and very decent suite equipment. We stayed in Obertraun as a base to explore Halstatt but...
We stayed in Obertraun as a base to explore Halstatt but found as our trip got closer that there was a lot more to do in Obertraun and Halstatt than originally thought so our one night stay turned out to not be long enough. If I were booking again I would definitely stay two or three nights so we could explore the salt mines, walks and view points.

We stayed in Obertraum so we could take the ferry to go to Hallstatt by ferry. The ferry ride was amazing, heavenly peace and tranquil. However, we did not know enough about the area. Obertraun is probably the best place for easy access to Hallstatt (besides being in Hallstatt itself). Bike rentals are easy and the bike ride to Hallstatt is also easy with very little elevation change. Lots of biking in the area.

Perfect location, fantastic view to Hallstatt and the mountains. Easy to reach Hallstatt even with bicycle, Dachstein and mountains are also very close. We had a two room suit which had two balconies with each room. The eco ferry starts journey from right in front of the Hotel. One pizza shop is very near and another restaurant is just behind the hotel. Just a headsup - The obertraun city goes to sleep after sunset. So the nearby pizzeria and restaurant is only options for food. You can do stargazing from the poolside. The reception has badminton, table tennis and some other games. The building is wooden but very clean.

The location is just perfect! lake Hallstatt is right behind the hotel and literally less than a min walk away. A lovely lake side play area for kids too ... You can take a local ferry to go to Hallstatt side from behind the hotel and avoid the driving/parking hassle near the main tourist parking areas. Breakfast was really lovely (a good mix of cold+warm ) and the staff were really warm and helpful. We just stayed for a night but how I wish we had stayed longer!PradnyaIndia

Our balcony had views over the garden looking up to five fingers platform, such a treat for morning coffee using coffee machine provided by Nina. We preferred to stay in the quieter pace of Obertraun and enjoyed the scenic 40 minute walk into Hallstatt, if required its a five minute walk to bus or train station and lovely little bakery. If you are visiting Hallstatt, stay at Haus Edelweiss .. just perfect.

If you miss some kitchen gadgets you can just ask at the reception and they will provide you for free - e.g. there was no knife and chopping board in our kitchen but they gave us this after we have asked for it. For coffee lovers - if you want to make coffee in your appartment, there is a coffee machine for nespresso capsules, so it is good to bring some with you as there are no capsules provided from the accommodation.ZuzanaSlovakia
