Kinsale is a cute little town. Beware. Not easy to drive in. Good place to spend a few days.We used it as a base for going to Mizen head, Baltimore and other places south of Cork.
Also note, and this is very common in Ireland, don't get up a the crack of dawn and expect to find a place open for breakfast. A few opened at 8 but more often opened at 9 and even 10. Earlier than 9 were few and far between. Those that are tend to be crowded for obvious reasons.

It was disastrous, my wife decided to go down the town for a walk around as she was walking she noticed foreigners watching her every move and they then started to pair up and follow her, she felt so threatened that she had to go into spar shop and wait for me to collect her. Would never visit there again.

Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away.
Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away. There are several excellent restaurants where you will have unforgettable experiences. The Black Pig and Finns Farmcut are amazing. Breakfast can be hit or miss, The Lemon Leaf and OHK were excellent. If the weather allows the walk out to Charles Fort is lovely, with a pint of Murphy’s at the Bulmans. The views at the Old Head of Kinsale are breathtaking, and Garretstown Beach is stunning. The tour and tasting at Kinsale Mead is fascinating and a unique highlight. Be careful choosing where to stay, as standards are not reflected by star ratings, and the centre can be noisy. Parking is challenging with two hour max at the central car park, better at SuperValu but you’ll need to move your car overnight.

We arrived later in the evening but were welcomed wonderfully. If you drive to the hotel, know that parking is only what you find on the street. Our room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was nice.
There isn't an elevator available so if you are on the 3rd floor like we were, be prepared to pull your bags up the stairs.
Be sure to book a paid breakfast with your room reservation. It was soooo good and one of the best meals we had in 2 weeks. A good breakfast gave us the energy to tackle a busy day.
Kinsale is a lovely town and even mid-week on a foggy fall day, we loved walking around.
Maeve was absolutely the best. We arrived on a Sunday evening & she stayed open a little while longer because I misjudged the travel time. Felt bad because that’s her time off. The hotel was clean & the breakfast was really good with several options. The location is a little off the beaten path so it’s quiet but is only a 5-10 minute walk to everything. She also provides a list of things to do as well as places to eat & drink. If I come back through in the future this will be the place I stay.
After spending a week staying in hotel rooms and eating in restaurants, having a few days in a house with a large kitchen where we could cook our own food was fantastic. There is a grocery store less than five minutes away with a car. The 3 bed, 3 bath townhouse is brand new and located outside of the city center so it is quiet. There is also private parking. Mark and Eileen were attentive wonderful hosts (thank you for the fresh lilies and tulips on the table).
The hotel has a very unique character that you seldom see. Rooms are cozy and have all the essentials. The hostess was very welcoming and told us about all the best pubs and restaurants. The parking in Kinsale is very difficult, so having a few parking spots on site was very convenient, especially for tourists. I look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Ireland!
Peter and Rasa were excellent hosts - attentive, helpful. The location was terrific. The facilities were great with the best shower I’ve had in a hotel. The bed and pillows were perfectly comfortable and breakfast was very nice. Try the poached eggs! Staff was very good. We will definitely return and I recommend Long Quay House to anyone planning a trip to Kinsale.
One of the best Irish breakfasts I ever had in a hotel. The dinner in the evening was excellent. Both the bar and the restaurant where busy both nights that we stayed and the staff where very friendly and cheerful with everyone. Shower in room was very good and the bed very comfortable.
A pleasant hotel to stay in. Would be happy to return sometime in the future.
Lovely welcome from all staff. Room was spotless and comfortable. Best breakfast experience. The pancakes and fried breakfast were amazing! Only stayed one night but would stay longer in the future if visiting Cork again. Two parents and two children in a family room worked well. My 7 year old said he liked our “hotel house” the best.
This was a perfect Irish accommodation for our family. The location is fantastic - right next to a park for the kids and walking distance to explore the town. The accommodations is super cute, clean and spacious. By far one of the best accommodations we’ve stayed in as a family. Host is helpful and responsive. We will be back!!
The design and attention to detail, as well as effort put in the little (but noticeable) amenities the owner has granted his guests, made this stay an exceptionally pleasant travel destination. Located near plenty of Kinsales best Pubs, Restaurants and leisure locations, it is the perfect get-away for a trip to Kinsale.
The hotel was central to everything in town. It was so close to tons of shops and restaurants and even a boat tour for the harbor. Parking was onsite so I didn’t have to worry about where to park. Everything was so nice! Breakfast was included and was great.
Hidden gem in the best town in Ireland. We could not recommend this place more. Clean towels and fresh water every day. Service impeccable. Better than a five star hotel. This is our new go to place any time in Ireland. Hats off to to you Pat and Ann.
We had a wonderful stay at the K Kinsale. It's a lovely small boutique hotel 5 mins walk from the centre of Kinsale. Melissa was a brilliant host who was on hand should we need anything and also gave us some great recommendations of things to do.
Great character to the hotel. Comfortable, warm, great location and the shower was the best shower of any hotel/venue we have ever stayed in. All in all it was great value so 10 out of 10. ⭐️
The Kinsale Hotel and Spa was fantastic the staff are so friendly especially in the spa and treatment rooms. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the food was lovely.
Excellent location, friendly helpful staff, beautiful decor.
Breakfast was delicious. Best scones of our time in Ireland. Would definitely return and recommend to friends.
