Michelle and Arthur were very welcoming. We explained that we wanted to do some shopping and Arthur suggested a craft shop nearby that was perfect for our needs. Great conversation with breakfast at their beautiful quiet property.

When we requested a few extra little things that were missing (dish cloths, tea spoons and scissors) these were provided very quickly.
When booking had gone through somehow it missed that we were bringing dogs!! A quick conversation with the hosts and this was quickly and positively sorted.

I grew up in Drogheda for over 18 years so naturally i am totally biased as this is a very historic town and the river Boyne has been within reach since childhood with places like Baltray, Terminfechin and Clougherhead memorable haunts.
The reason for staying at the D was convenient for all of my family members to visit. My usual place to sstay when "HOME" is with my sister but unfortunately she can no longer drive.

Drogheda is an historical town set between Dublin and...
Drogheda is an historical town set between Dublin and Dundalk on the east coast of Ireland. It has a mainline station and a busy bus station providing connections to the main cities, regional centres and local places.
The town is busy with plenty of places to eat, meet friends and have coffee. People are welcoming and interested in stories from abroad (in my case, London) and also like hearing what is going on up the coast (Dundalk) and in Dublin.
There are some great 'curiosities' in Drogheda (historical sites & quaint shops) and most of all it's a stone's throw from Dublin, making it a convenient place for international travel and further exploration of particularly the east coast of Ireland.
Because it's not Dublin, the cost of accommodation is considerably more economical, with a slightly more laid-back feel and good efficiency.
I particularly liked the buses and even got a free ride when I got on the wrong one (something which rarely happens to me in London!).
I've stayed in Drogheda many times but this was my first at the Scholars and its a big step above anywhere else I've been. Not cheap, but a beautiful hotel in an excellent location with easy access to the town center. The restaurant was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.
The bedroom was well fitted out with excellent quality linen etc.
This was a cosy B&B on the outskirts of Drogheda. The host was very friendly and welcoming. The place was very clean, the bed and pillows were comfy and we really appreciated the hot water in the shower and big fluffy towels warming on the radiator when we arrived soaked having been walking on the Boyne Valley Camino. We would recommend to friends and family.
Loved the beautiful location on the beach and the features of the house. The layout of the house is perfect for groups traveling together. The kitchen and gathering area was very large for accommodating group activities such as games, eating, drinking, etc. the location was beautiful and very conveniently located between Dublin and Belfast.
I had a stressful stay because, they made me pay again after paying booking. com. They refused to check me in as they said booking . com did not transfer the money I paid them. It was stressful as I have no option to pay again. I have not received a refund from booking . com or the hotel. For a night, I paid double. I need a refund please
I have stayed here now 3 times on two separate trips to Ireland, and love this hotel! The staff have been really nice and super helpful, recommending local eateries and entertainment and helping me with requests. The rooms are spacious, well kept and lots of storage. Stunning views, especially if you get ones overlooking the Boyne River!
Inside the hotel feels like a beachy golf resort. The carpets and paint are all clearly fresh, the room was impeccably decorated and had an exceptionally comfortable bed. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and professional. Breakfast was a highlight as well. I genuinely only have positive things to say about my stay here.
The property is beautiful and Michelle was so welcoming when we got there. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The next morning Arthur had a great continental breakfast for us that even included stewed plums that he did himself… they were delicious!!! Don’t hesitate to stay here , you won’t regret it!!!
Was available last second, was willing to make homemade breakfast, had suggestions of local foods open in the area. We rented a car during our Ireland stay, DEFINITELY recommend staying here. Close to Dublin, only a short sprint on the motorway. Small town feel, everyone's friendly.
Exceptional B&B. Tremendous breakfast, Superior rooms. Juilet is brilliant, an excellent, knowledgeable and friendly host. This is a great place to stay and explore the many attractions of the Boyne Valley. It's also not far from one of the best sandy beaches in Ireland.
The room was spacious and with good facilities and extremely comfortable. Cleanliness was impeccable and the breakfast was good too! It made a good place to stay for my trip to Newgrange from Drogheda. Easy enough to get to from the centre of town too.
The room was comfortable, breakfast with absolutely sufficient selection. But 2 things I particularly liked: 1) a bar with a really nice red ale and a super good local whiskey by name Slane. 2) Super cool Irish mood in the hotel.
Very friendly staff, quirky details in the rooms and great atmosphere.
Good location right in between the bus stop, train station and Drogheda city centre. Good alternative for expensive accomodation in Dublin.
The house was very restful. I truly wish I’d had more time to stay there. The hosts were very cheerful and polite, and the breakfasts were the best I’ve had in 2 months of travel through Europe
Boyne Valley Hotel has beautiful grounds.
My room was large and luxurious with a very modern bathroom.
There was a huge choice at breakfast, and the staff were attentive and professional.
The only pub hostel I’ve stayed that I actually liked, it’s very accommodating and was easy to relax, one of drogheda’s if not drogheda’s pest pub at your door stop aswell
Michelle and Arthur were friendly hosts, who made us very welcome. They have a lovely home, situated well for visiting any of the Boyne Valley sights or Drogheda.
Our room was beautiful very big with huge window overlooking the river and a nice seating area by the window. Breakfast was nice a standard hotel breakfast .
