You pay for the location and the palace-hotel itself, which is wonderful, but a lot more renovations and changing must be done with the rooms and bathrooms to really match the price. Otherwise location is the best in Alba Iulia! The feeling you have when staying at this hotel is wonderful and unlike other.

What I liked the most was the staff attitude, and this is something that should always be mentioned. The lady who was there when I arrived changed my room as soon as I told her that I would like that. The next day, after I checked out, I called them to inquire about some bus timetables, and the young man who answered was very nice and helpful. The breakfast, too, was very good.

Alba Iulia's walled city was a surprising cluster of food stands and tourist trinket kiosks and rides for children. It was loud and busy. One museum was closed, and the Roman museum had busts of Roman rulers and pillars and other stone objects. Children will love it, but history-seekers might not.

Majestic city built inside a 16th century medieval fortress, keeping all the historical elements it is famous for. Many accomodations to choose from. Some great restaurants and diners. Open air swimming pools are available around the city. Nearby you can also find a forest and a great hilly area which provide a great panoramic view of the city.

Alba Iulia is a touristic town, full of history (the biggest fortress in Romania), with great connections by road ( A10, A1 ) , train or plane ( Sibiu Airport 50 minutes away and Cluj Napoca 1 h. 15 minutes ). There are very good restaurants with reasonable prices - Vila Preciosa or Pub13, for example. Plenty of cultural events are going on, every month. Don't miss the changing of guards on Saturdays and Sundays from 12.00. Also, Fridays, at 19.00 there is a Daco - Romans Fighting Show. Don't miss the History Museum and Sala Uniri ( where the unification act was signed on 1st of December 1918 ). There is a new and nice museum for icons - Museikon.ro. The cathedrals - catholic "Sf Mihail" - the oldest and longest in Romania, and orthodox - The Coronation Cathedral, where King Mihai 1 was crowned in 1922. Have fun!

Pleasant experience overall, not only inside the fortress, but also walking on the cobbled pathway between the two external walls of the bastion, where nowadays there are benches, ornamental trees and even a small pond with exotic fish. There are a few cafes and food vans inside the citadel, so the visitors could recharge themselves while walking between statues, churches and museums.

This is a city in Romania which is really prepared for tourism, above all the expectations that we had. There are QR codes on the streets and on the main attractions, English speaking in every museum and restaurant that we entered.

I visited the city for a music festival held at RYMA spaces, inside the fortress.
The fortress is well preserved and has a lot of wonderful sights and attractions. It has been restored and looks great.
However, the city itself is not that cool - it does not have too much to offer, except for the fortress and historical center, of course. It is unkempt and, with the exception of the modern center, rather poorly maintained. The roads are terrible - potholes, roadworks, poor traffic management, etc..
If you are not attending a festival/other event, spending more than one night here is too much.
The hotel offers great value for money from my point of view. There are some minor things that can be improved, but for the money you pay the services are very good. There are not many things to say, as we only stayed for 1 night, but the important things are there: spacey rooms, friendly staff clean rooms. The position of the hotel is outside of town, but this is something you would check for yourself when booking, but for a city brake is more then enough
The dining room was a great place for breakfast. There was a buffet but also waiter service. The reception was brilliant and very helpful indeed. The bedroom and bathroom facilities were outstanding. This hotel has to be seen to be believed! My stay in this wonderful hotel was faultless. The main reason for visiting Alba Iulia would be to see the great and historic Citadel. You could not be any closer to it than here!
They had a dance night near my room ! They indeed told me this but I cannot understand how such a poor management can agree to get money both from dancing and both from hotels. If you know that you will have a dancing night why you still get reservations for that weekend? This is absolutely a greedy for money behaviour. I only slept 2 hrs that night!
It is a very clean place with lovely staff; the room is comfy, bed is huge and we had such a good sleep; location is 5 min walking distance from city center, with enough parking spots available; also, amenities are from White Company from London, which is really unexpected :-)
I would totally recommend this place to anyone going to Alba Iulia
The place is spotless, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the location is amazing. After being here twice, a couple of years ago and then now, I can say it is definitely my go-to accommodation in Alba Iulia and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who has to be in the city.
Excellent location, near the citadel and the main points of interest, the host is very very kind and hospitable; the room was spacious, comfortable, very clean, with all the necessary; breakfast very good. If in Alba Iulia again, I will definitely come back.
Great location few minutes walk from Alba Iulia Citadel.
Hosts were very friendly, the room was tidy, with comfy bed, tv and nice bathroom.
We enjoyed lovely terrace and tasty breakfast.
Additionally, there was a parking spot next to the house.
The most relaxing stay we have had during our week travel in Romania. Very comfortable, exquisite taste, excellent breakfast and relaxing music. We really managed to recharge our batteries after our adventures in other locations.
The location is amazing, it is one minute from the center. The hotel is very interesting, it is an old communist hotel with an interesting architecture. The view is amazing, I don't think you can get better in Alba Iulia.
Couldn't be any more centrally located right on Alba Iulia's main tourist attractions with great views!
Great comfort and facilities you wouldn't get in a hotel room and at an unbeatable value!
Simply unbelievable!
This was an unexpectedly fantastic, historic hotel in a beautiful location. Alba Iulia is packed with history from the Roman times to the present and Hotel Medieval is right in the middle of it.
A modern apartment in the heart of Alba Iulia town, with a lot of facilities, closed to the citadel and friendly host. We celebrate National Day in this location with a lot of joy and happiness.
Very good choice for one night stay to visit Alba Iulia. Family run business. Near the train station and the old citadel. Friendly staff who offered luggage storage. Easy communication!
Very beautiful, clean and comfortable apartment in a quiet neighborhood. We were very satisfied and won’t hesitate to come back if we come to Alba Iulia again.
