When I made the booking, I was transferred a few times and I thought I was booking directly to the Reef hotel with the advertised breakfast included..
However when I got there they told me the booking was through booking.com and that I had booked some "budget" special and breakfast was NOT included.
Why would a person travelling alone not book for breakfast? Doesn't make sense.
So if I wanted breakfast, I would have to pay $50 each day.
Not happy.

This place is magnificent, it feels like paradise. We had an amazing time here. The facilities are incredibly clean, they include everything you need and more and the owner Leonie is just the sweetest! She is always listening and providing everything you need.
The view is fantastic and it’s an amazing place to relax and connect with nature. I’m definitely coming back!

Nice quiet location, house was spacious and comfortable. Lovely outdoor area with outdoor kitchen. House was fully air conditioned and there was room to park our boat in the driveway along with two vehicles.

Such a beautiful peaceful place to visit. The whole island had a great atmosphere and travelling in the buggies was fun. You pay a bit more for food and drink on the island but that is to be expected. We spent on average $200 a day as a couple which included eating out as well breakfasts and some lunches at our apartment. Dinner at Coca-Chu was gorgeous, we found cocktails and lunch at Sails (Catseye Beach) delicious and reasonably priced.

Hamilton Island is a great place and a great stop over if going onto Hayman Island. We were worried if our flight was delayed in any way we would miss our boat transfer to Hayman Island so we came in a day earlier. It was a very nice overnight stay allowing us to explore Hamilton Island.

Apart from the overpriced accommodation we found it to be a relaxed atmosphere. We love golf so was able to fit in two games on Dent Island. The views really are breath-taking from the course. Golf club restaurant probably the best in both food (although a bit limited in variety) and to take in the amazing views across the azure water. Cocochu restaurant offers a fresh and varied menu. Make sure you book in advance as very popular. There is some coral located just out from cats eye beach so pack your snorkel and mask to see a variety of tropical fish, rays, reef sharks and likely to come across a sea turtle munching on the sea grass at the bottom. The island has lots an options for dining and the tour operators are very professional. The prices can seem high but the quality of the offering is very good and of an international standard. Look for the deals and you can get some activities for free. The island shuttle buses are very handy for getting around.

The cracked and chipped crockery was replaced whilst we were there, but only 4 Tumblers. Housekeeping was great and exceeded our expectations. The apartments are on the bus route, which was so handy for the restaurants, tavern and shops/activities on the marina. Buggy hire and resort centre are a short stroll away and next door is the Reef View Lounge for evening drinks and cocktails. And free shuttle transfers to/from the airport are a very welcome bonus.
