Great location overlooking the river Thames and convenient for visiting Maidenhead. The hotel is a bit tired but it offers great value for money and we would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast was so much more extensive than the breakfast order form suggested ! All beautiful and fresh. One of the most comfortable beds I've ever had. Great view of the river from my room and a real air of tranquility.

We loved that there was snacks in the room. It was quiet and we had a peaceful sleep. We also lovedddd that all 6 of us stayed in the same room and we still had enough space for our luggage and ample space to move around.

The only thing worth mentioning is the stairs are steep and it maybe a problem if someone have heavy cases or a knee disability. Overall, everything else was good. Plenty of everything and the owners try hard to make your stay a happy one.

We only stayed one night but about half a mile away from the hotel we found a restaurant which overlooks the Thames and had a wonderful meal which made up a little for the disappointment with the hotel we booked

Boulters Mill and Ray Mill Island were fabulous to walk around, had a nice coffee in a lovely spot at the Piazza just a little further on from the Boathouse which we sat at but didn't order at as they were coming into lunch service and we just wanted coffee. Ate on a very warm summer's evening at Roux at Skindles Mill which was on our doorstep having stayed at the Thames Riveria Hotel. We sat on the terrace and ate a most delightful meal, finished up at the Hall & Woodhouse Boatyard at which we sat outside all evening as very warm. All in all a superb day with lots of lovely things to do and places to go. Evening before we had gone to the Bear near Maidenhead town and that was very pleasant and reasonable as you would expect from Wetherspoons.

Good stay but I belive it should be made clear that there are two buildings and you may not actually stay in the hotel building but the adjacent building and our room did not have a safe or dressing gown and slippers as other rooms do.

The accommodation is within walking distance of the river and there is an excellent Thai restaurant in the next street and I can highly recommend the food. My trip was for work purposes, so I didn't have time for sightseeing.

The river and walks around are lovely.
The river and walks around are lovely. Boulter's Lock is very close - a noted beauty spot, as is Cliveden with its extensive NT gardens, river walk and echoes of scandal.
Maidenhead itself, on the other hand, is badly run-down, as are so many town centres these days. The shopping mall would have been modest in its heyday, but with many empty units, betting and charity shops on its high Street, it resembles the epitome of broken Britain. The shopping centre car park is now closed, permanently by the look of it, and the nearest multistorey is a nightmare to access with evidence of many cars leaving paintwork on the narrow entry/exit bollards.
An area that obviously has many exceptionally expensive private houses and quite extensive recently built apartments, reveals an unexpectedly disappointing town centre.
Perfect staycation in a beautiful property by the riverside. We received a warm welcome and really enjoyed the artistic atmosphere, especially at the living room. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was absolutely massive. The breakfast was decent. The property is less that 15 mins walk from Maidenhead center, although we preferred the riverside walk towards Taplow and also to Bray where you can sample some of the finest culinary delights of the country.
This hotel is in a good location for access to both Maidenhead and Marlow.
The staff were pleasant and welcoming.
The bathroom in the room was quite nice with a big rain shower.
Staff were open to trying to help with my issue with the room.
Breakfast served from 0700 to check out (I didn't get a chance to eat this due to my own time constraints)
Everything, wonderful spacious room with everything needed for a stress free stay, secure of road parking is a bonus over town centre locations. Frank and Anabela are the perfect hosts.
It’s a nice quite location and a short walk to Boulters Lock on the river Thames and only a 20 minute walk to Maidenhead town centre.
The whole team at Taplow house were exceptional and attentive lead by Jason the hotel manager. They made our stay extremely welcoming and at home. They went to extraordinary lengths to ensure my wife’s 50th birthday surprise break was one to remember. Thank you all and see you again soon Nick & Marie
Large, comfortable, quiet, well-equipped room ( number 6 ) overlooking pool and garden. Staff ( Sarah ) was most helpful, hospitable and accommodating. Good parking and wi-fi. Great walks from the hotel along the Thames paths
All the staff were very helpful, couldn’t do enough for you very friendly.
Loved the hotel the surrounding area, so relaxing.
When we enquired about the age of the hotel we were even given a booklet for us to read
Location and plenty of Parking. Easy location for walks into the Maidenhead town centre or along the river thames. Located on the main A4 bath road for bus stops but back enough so you dont hear the traffic.
The location is good for access to Maidenhead, Legoland, Cookham. The room was very clean and Carla was really friendly and helpful. The room was basic but light and airy, nice decor and the bed was comfy.
Near Maidenhead and very quiet room. Had all the basic amenities like:hair dryer, kettle with tea, convenient bar and to top it off the staff were very accommodating. Will return as I slept really well.
We were first allocated a 3 rd floor room , with no lifts in the hotel, we are 70 yrs old , requested a lower floor, and they very kindly have us a ground floor room, it was excellent, thank you.
Very good location, in the heart of the Town centre..
Lots of restaurants and shops eg Sainsburys, Waitrose, Pizza Hut & Express, KFC, Pubs & Diner etc walking distance away..
Beautiful interiors and location on River Thames. I was travelling for business and much prefer to stay in boutique locations, rather than impesonal hotels.
From the outside the hotel looks shocking, I thought I had the wrong place - however once you're inside it is very nice, good decoration and fabulous pool.
Front of House was very polite, Views over to the River were nice. I think a little overpriced for the standard I've seen for other Hotels of that type.
