Great location. Easy to find. Near the highway and restaurants.
Tuscaloosa is a great place to visit. Lots to do. Great places to eat. Easy to get around in the town. Just make sure when you go there is nothing going on big on the college campuses because the hotels price gauge if there is something big going on in town. Surrounded by other great places in case you can't find a hotel there, but this only happens when the colleges are having big events. I love Tuscaloosa. Just make sure you get a good hotel.

Tuscaloosa has many family friendly and beautiful sites.
Tuscaloosa has many family friendly and beautiful sites. The traffic scared me but no accidents. It seemed as if the police were busy and in twos. The parks were ok but the site seeing made up for that. We ate at brick and spoon and I was very unimpressed and disappointed over shrimp n grits. If your in college it's the place to be.

Very nice and helpful staff!
Very nice and helpful staff! Cleanliness was our main concern and they met or exceeded our expectations. It's a very new hotel so everything was modern and up to date (electronics and facility). My only "complaint" is that the hotel is difficult to access. The GPS took us to the church parking lot behind the hotel. You need to cut through the adjacent hotel's parking lot to get to Avid. Not a big deal but it would be more convenient to have a separate driveway. We stayed at Tuscaloosa and our room faced the main street and highway. It was a Friday and there was a lot of noise coming from the roads still at bedtime. I'll request a room on the other side of the hotel next time. But overall, a VERY nice hotel for the price! We will book with them again in the future.

The whole trip was disaster. Pool no water.
The whole trip was disaster. Pool no water. Location was too shady to feel comfortable staying there. DM was very helpful. She found us another hotel which I paid for. Booking did nothing to help. I want my money back on room

The best thing about Tuscaloosa is the University.
The best thing about Tuscaloosa is the University. The campus is awesome; and the little downtown area near the university is charming, but that's pretty much all we liked about Tuscaloosa. We only went because that's where our daughter went to college, but found it super frustrating that hotels and rentals always gouge on lodging during special events. We probably won't ever go back. Our experience dealing with the locals when we had to do business with them was generally not very friendly.

Tuscaloosa is an awesome city.
Tuscaloosa is an awesome city. Everything is within just a couple of miles of each other. Very nice people and very informative people there. The mall is nice, Target is on point, The Olive Garden there is great.
It was quiet. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The staff is very nice. Not sure what the front desk employee name is but this is the 2nd time we have stayed there in a month and she was very nice and sweet both times. We checked in about 5 or 6 pm. Check in was easy. If we have to come back to Tuscaloosa again, we will definitely stay here again.
Beware of this place
I received confirmation number and pin number
I continued to receive email confirmations of my room reservation up until the day before I traveled to Tuscaloosa
when the attendant arrived I gave him my confirmation number and I was told they had given my room away and they had no other rooms
I booked this room for my bf and understood it was charged to my card but upon his arrival they charged his card for the entire amount. I called the hotel and spoke to Ana who was very helpful and immediately took care of reversing the charges to my card. She was wonderful and very kind and helpful.
Great stay, employees/staff, the rooms, cleanliness etc...very satisfied. I actually came over about 2am from another hotel that was just so nasty that I couldn't feel/get comfortable enough to fall asleep. It was refreshing to walk into an Avid room after the other place.
Mr. Huey is absolutely the BEST!! He takes care of any need and truly cares about the customer. I had an issue with a reservation made off of booking.com and could NOT get any help with it. He took care of it immediately. We will only stay here in Tuscaloosa when we visit!!
Well we made the reservation on line and got to the hotel and walked inside had to dial 500 to get the lady to come to the window and she looked awful and told us the room was not available and we needed to call to get our money back, so it was a bad experience
It was a quiet area, for the most part up to date. Room was spacious. There were a couple of hiccups (no fault of the hotel!) while we were trying to check in but the staff went above and beyond to resolve as soon as possible, and accommodated us quickly.
I have stayed at the Hotel Capstone several times before. It is always a phenomenal experience. My son attends the University of Alabama so we often visit him and stay at the Capstone.
This Hotel was easy to get to and convenient for visiting our daughter at the University. Breakfast was basic (No cooked breakfast) but cereals, toast yoghurt etc plus tea or coffee
The breakfast was good and the location was in a nice area. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the room. We will come back and recommend this Hotel to our family and friends. 💜
