Small, quirky, artsy town worth your time! Just 13 miles off the main highway, and so much good food!!! Mountain High Pizza Pie, The Salmon Spot, and Roadhouse morning cinnamon rolls, to name a few. Great local shops as well. Would DEFINATELY stay there again!

Talkeetna is beautiful place.
Talkeetna is beautiful place. Perfect blend of old and modern. Every establishment I visited had friendly people. Whether it is an airplane flight to white water rafting Talkeetna will not disappoint.

Talkeetna is a tiny "town", we loved it for 2 nights - no action - peaceful.
We took a zipline excursion one day and panned for gold the next - ate out each meal - came in on the train & left on the bus - not a lot of time to get bored, was with a large family group.

We came for the AK dog sled tours, which I would highly recommend. We enjoyed the town of Talkeetna too. Small but has good food. Easy to drive and park. Nice to have free parking after coming from Anchorage. Also a train depot here, which we took advantage of.

Talkeetna was a great location to stay in, it was easy to see why it's rated as one of the top ten small villages in Alaska. Locally run small stores , restaurants, and bars. Not all locations open when we stayed for 5 nights in May but the village was beginning to wake from its slumbers. I would recommend that you try the Flying Squirrel for breakfast or lunch, and the Denali brew pub for a drink.
Our accommodation at the Denali fireside cabins and suites was clean, comfortable and warm. The owner Don was a great guy who was quick to help with any questions or requests we had. I would have been happy to stay longer, but my flight back to Scotland was calling !!

Extremely small little town , mile high pizza was awesome, took Mahay jet boat to gorge , was long but worth it ( 16 people only but could hold 50 definitely would have been different if full. Buses of day trippers come 9-5 . So best to take hikes , go fly fishing then hit Mike high pizza for some local brews and listen to music , then walk to end of road and look at mountains if clear view is awesome until midnight. Bring a chair.
Talkeetna Villas and Tours is the place to stay in Talkeetna. Super clean, comfortable, cozy and with great attention to detail. It is a walking distance from Talkeetna center (basically around the corner) and the best part? Travis, the host. He went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, we had a pit fire all together with other guests, treated us with smores and gave us his number in case we needed something while discreetly checking in with us when we were away. Thank you for everything!
My husband and i stayed here in late August and the Cabin was roomy, clean and the bed was comfortable. The cabin had everything to make our stay great Don the owner was very friendly and hospitable.
The cabins are in walking distance from the Talkeetna railroad and about a 8 min walk into the centre of town.We liked that there was a resturant open from breakfast lunch & dinner right next door.
We would definately stay here again.
This is a beautiful cottage with many personal touches. It is located in an idyllic setting with Sunshine lake just down the drive. Everything is clean, beautifully decorated, and inviting. The bed was very comfortable and we had the best night’s sleep here of our trip. The host was welcoming and gave great suggestions for activities and restaurants. Take note that the cottage is about 15 minutes from the town of Talkeetna.
The lodge is an excellent place to stay overnight when driving from Anchorage to Denali. Shuttle service to/from center of Talkeetna was very convenient. There are many common areas with beautiful views of the Alaskan mountain range. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was courteous and helpful. Parking was easy. We had a wonderful stay.
We loved the setting. The cabin is situated on a small lake which is so peaceful and quiet. There was a family of loons on the lake and they enchanted us. We ate our meals outside in this beautiful setting every day. We used the row boat provided and we able to explore the lake. Talkeetna is just a 15 minute drive away
Location, staff, amenities - everything and everyone there were fantastic! Cabins were well stocked, very comfortable and clean. The sound of the river was so nice to enjoy. We absolutely loved our time there - it was the best place we stayed while in Alaska by far, and in my opinion, also the best in Talkeetna!
1ST CLASS ,CLEAN, LAUNDRY FACILITY ON PREMISE.VERY WELL LAID OUT. EVEN THOU FULLY BOOKED ONLY SAW 1 OTHER GUEST.PUT A MINT ON THE PILLOW ,AND YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT YOU WERE AT A 5 STAR HOTEL.THIS FROM SOMEONE WHO SPENT OVER 400 NIGHTS IN HOTELS FOR BUSINESS.

We’ve been coming to these cabins for years! I love that our whole family is welcome (including our fur kids) and while it is private, quiet, and secluded, it’s just a short walk into town. The views while relaxing with morning coffee are just that - perfectly relaxing!
We loved everything about the accommodations and its history, but what made our stay in Talkeetna spectacular and special was the time we spent with the owner and her family. This was my first trip to Alaska and I hope to stay here again. Highly recommend!!!
The folks running Dave's were lovely, friendly and accomodating. The cabin was cute on the outside, set back in the bush with a little deck. There was a nice, shared area around the fire pit. Just about 10 minutes out of Talkeetna.
The beds were like clouds and the pillows were the best In alaska. They had everything you needed. The finishing touches were great for example blow dryer, full size coffee pot, makeup wipes and more. Beautiful paths to walk.
Beautifully located right on the river, close to the shops and restaurants in downtown Talkeetna.
Great staff, they even called me when I forgot my cap in my room after checkout (keep the cap folks ;) )
The town resembles a small mining town 100+ years ago. The inn is located near the river with a view of the Alaskan range (Denali) with flightseeing trips available nearby.
Peaceful location close to the quaint town of Talkeetna
Very comfortable beds
Extra blankets for colder nights
