I loved the hotel. The Leadership made the difference.

We were just passing through and looking for a clean comfortable place to get a good night sleep and a decent breakfast before continuing our trip. The room met our expectations but the breakfast was the worst that I've had in a long time. They had a poor selection and didn't have glasses of forks. People were using waffle measuring cups for their drinks. I asked a staff member if she could get us some forks and she was very rude. All she would say is we don't have forks. I would recommend staying here if you don't plan on staying for breakfast. Also, check your credit card to make sure that you are being charged the rate the you agreed on when booking the room. I was overcharged approximately $40. Fortunately, I noticed this and was able to get the charge changed.

The Marriott was very convenient to Roanoke Memorial...
The Marriott was very convenient to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, the reason for our visit was my husband’s heart surgery. The restaurant was great and met our dinner needs, but breakfast was too early to take advantage of. I lived in Roanoke 56 years ago, Much had changed, but folks were still friendly and helpful. Thanks Roanoke

We initially came for a three night stay.
We initially came for a three night stay. My husband had a heart attack the first night so he went to the hospital and I stayed for five nights.
They were very helpful and accommodating under the circumstances. They let me move to a larger room when my daughter joined me. Let me add/subtract nights on short notice. Gave me a medical discount . I could not have asked for better support. Thank you . I will stay there whenever we visit Roanoke.

This was a last minute, let's get somewhere to sleep, kind of stay.
The hotel was very nice and clean, and a great price from Booking.com. Next time we'll plan on adding a day to see some sights and get a good meal.

We live in a nearby town.
We live in a nearby town. And make several trips a week to Roanoke. Often wish we lived there to save the commute (But then we like our own house too much). There is plenty of great food and entertainment in Roanoke. We like Atlanta and Dallas too, but on a smaller scale Roanoke competes well and is WAY WAY WAY less hassle. Pick up a copy of the Roanoker for lots of tips on food and entertainment. We always take guests to the Mill Mountain Star and the Train Museum.

Roanoke has the best of both worlds.
Roanoke has the best of both worlds. You can be downtown and experience wonderful restaurants and boutiques, or you can go up to Mill Mountain and visit a Zoo or the famous Star!! They also have the river so you can do things on the water. There are many trails throughout the city.
This hotel was under construction and should have been closed during their updating. Enntrance to the hotel was covered in debris and it duct was tracked through the lobby area. Drilling and hammering was going on until 7:00 PM. Our room was supposed to have been refurbished already, yet the sink was cracked, the toilet paper holder had not been screwed to the wall, the blanket on our bed had a hole in it, the bath mat was frayed on two sides, etc. We were completely disappointed in this hotel.
We were on a roadtrip and we ended up being farther away from Roanoke than we'd thought. I had done the online check-in, and I figured it was too late to cancel without forfeiting the entire room rate. I called the hotel just to see whether, by some chance, I could cancel and not be charged. Donna was so kind and accommodating, and she agreed to cancel the reservation and not charge me. I was so thankful as we were still hours away, and we were too tired to keep driving. Thanks so much, Donna!
I actually stayed at the property because the property did not actually have accommodations for a handicap person with mobility issues. While a room was available it was on the third floor and for some reason the property does not have an elevator or escalator. According to the person at the front desk, the city of Roanoke, VA does not require elevators in hotels with three floor. How is that ADA compliant or even accommodating of any customer with luggage.
I was very impressed with the architecture and design of the hotel itself, especially the interior and artwork in the lobby/reception area. My room was appropriately styled to match the historical but luxurious nature of the hotel. Additionally, the hotel has a skybridge connecting to downtown Roanoke over the train tracks; very convenient.
My room had all the necessities. I liked how close the hotel was to the highway (just down the street). I liked that I was able to walk to downtown in less than 15 minutes from the hotel. The Berglund Center is right across the street from the hotel. I was surprised with a to-go bag when I checked out - that was very thoughtful!
Nice hotel for this money. if be honest I didn’t expect.
We stayed one night and I enjoyed my staying.
Room was clean, receptionist was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was okay, I mean I didn’t find a lot of options but for this price it’s more than fine.
Gorgeous lodge overlooking the mountains. Owners take pride in their lodge and grounds. We had a great night sleep and wish we had not been passing through the area. We're glad we decided to stay here over a hotel in Roanoke!
Very friendly hospitable staff who were helpful when looking for places to eat. The room was spacious and comfortable and very good value for money. Location is within 10 minutes of downtown Roanoke. Fully recommend.
Beautiful classic architecture made modern into a hotel! Staff is friendly. The bar is pricey but amazing. Next to an ATM and is walking distance from all things downtown Roanoke. Bathrooms are huge!
Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the best of all the hotels on my trip and the attendant was very attentive to the food. Great view from the parking lot as well
The suite was roomy and the bed and sofa bed comfortable. The area was safe unlike other parts of Roanoke where I have stayed in budget hotels. Good eggs at breakfast.
Location was perfect for traveling too and from the Bergland Center and Hotel Roanoke for the Miss Virginia Competition. Quiet and clean. Front desk staff were amazing!
Nice clean place. With parking. Very good value. In an area with plenty of restaruants . Further out from Roanoke thqn I though it wold be but not that far.
