I was in town on business for one night only so what I did...
I was in town on business for one night only so what I did see of Elko was a nice town with a good choice of restaurants and Casinos if that's your thing, traffic was not congested so it was easy to get around. I have to return later in the month so I will allow myself some time to check out the town a little better.

Not my type of town, casinos were smaller than Wendover which had a better vibe overall, but nearby Ruby mountains were amazing. Odeh’s Mediterranean Restaurant has great food! Just be sure if you’re ordering by phone you don’t call Odeh’s Mediterranean *Kitchen*—which is on the east coast ;-) Love BJ Bull’s Cornish Pasties and Pies! Always worth a stop. Try the Beef and Mushroom Pasty. Northeastern Nevada Museum is a fun stop, and close to a very nice park as well. Elko doesn't have the traffic congestion you find in large cities, the restaurants had good choices and prices, it was easy to find your way around. We really like the Star restaurant for dinner, great food.

Returning home on a road trip, we had planned to stay in Winnemucca; but it was crazy busy there with no place to stay that wasn't right on the noisy main drag. Despite having to drive on to Elko after dark, arriving at Ledgestone just after 10PM, it was the best decision we could have made. Our check-in was quick, the room was clean and quiet (even though facing the freeway), bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed a cup of coffee in our room in the morning.

I haven’t seen that kind of hospitality and service in a long time much less at aHoliday Inn. some larger, expensive hotel chains could take a few pages if notes from the staff at HIE in Elko. who knew…..highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.

Hotel had a pool, sauna, steam room. Room had a microwave, fridge, bar sink. Bathroom had a blow dryer for use and a bathtub. Beds had great pillows and bed was pretty comfortable. Front desk area had water, coffee, fruit, donuts and other treats. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms pretty soundproof the night I was there.
