Hotel was well situated in a retail area with many options for food, ice cream, coffee and and drinks. The views of the harbor and access to it were great and right out the back door. The complimentary breakfast was good with both hot and cold items.

Lots of construction driving to/from Seward from Anchorage, so it took way longer than we had anticipated. It was a cute town and we enjoyed our 8.5 hour glacier cruise. I would definitely take a shorter cruise. Fox Island was a great part of our cruise.

Seward is a charming waterfront town with plenty of good restaurants and things to do. We took two incredible boat tours with Kenai Ford Tours; they were fabulous. There is plenty of hiking, and the city is nestled between mountains. Seward is the kind of place you hate to leave.

Highly recommend coming to take a glacier tour, whale watch, hike or to take children to the aquatic life center. Nice, locally owned galleries and shops with friendly keepers. Easy to get around and can access local parks and walking trails with close by parking.

It is obviously a tourist town with the 'big' thing being the boat tours with the Sea Life center being second, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't take back what I saw on my day cruise (Humpbacks, Orcas, Sea Otters, Sea Lions, Seals, Holgate Glacier, etc) or at the Sea Life Center for anything (They have touch tanks that are awesome for kids or adults). The restaurants and outside food vendors had delicious food. We were only there for 3 days, but that seemed like the perfect amount of time to be there for anyone that is not going to be doing the more active nature hiking/climbing.

Great little Alaskan town on the waterfront.
Great little Alaskan town on the waterfront. Plenty of outdoor activities to do within town and within 20 minutes of the town center. Recommend taking one of the local Kenai Fjords boat tours out to see the glaciers and water wildlife. Also spend some time hiking the local trails in the Chugach NF and at Kenai Fjords National Park. Not up to hiking? Then spend your time in town visiting the stores and the excellent dining options. Our best place to eat is found off of the road to Exit Glacier, there is a Roadhouse there that has a great atmosphere and excellent food.
You will enjoy this little slice of Alsaka
When I first walked up I thought it was a set for Schitt’s Creek. Clean on the outside, rooms had mixed matched furniture, nothing fancy … but clean. Only had two staff members, but they did their very best to make sure everybody was taken care of. Manager is a super hard worker. She tried to take time to talk to as many of the guest as possible. Not my typical type of place to stay, but it did the trick. In Seward it shouldn’t be about that hotel or motel it’s about the great outdoors.
This is a new hotel being ran by John and his wife. John was amazing at fixing our reservation mix up and provided great local recommendations on places to eat, hike, and things to do around town. New establishment with keyless entry, fully equipped kitchen, big flat screen and comfy bed and bath. Great quiet location new food and drink options, but set apart in the woods. Vert conveniently located to all things in Seward and surrounding area.
Our room was just as shown in the pictures. Newer and very clean! Nice having full size appliances (particularly a stove). We had plenty of room in the Queen studio for 2 people. Added bonus having a nice size closet and the bathroom was very spacious and CLEAN! Good location in Seward on the road to Exit Glacier and a short drive to the harbor and stores and restaurants in town.
Very friendly, personal and comfortable with everything you need. Close to the Marine Wildlife Center, but a bit far away (to far to walk, especially when it is raining) from the cruise terminal and for the starting point of Kenai Fjord Tours. If you have a car, the perfect place to be. :-) I can highly recommend Trailhead Lodging- Seward.
Such a great place to stay! Our cabin was right next to the beautiful creek. The room was spacious, clean, and beds were new and very comfortable. The cabin was located a short walk from the restroom and showers. Both restroom and showers were very clean. Our host Brandon was awesome.
If you in Seward for the boat trip to the Kenai Fjords the location is quite close the marina. Its a short walk and there is a good breakfast place nearby at the marina as well. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel and although it is a hike, you can walk to dining in town.
Enjoyed my three night stay at Hotel Seward. Room was located on the first floor of the historic wing - modest accommodations with small clean bathroom. Hotel Seward is located downtown, close proximity to coffee shops, restaurants and a short mile walk or drive to marina.
Located in downtown Seward this hotel is close to everything. Being an older hotel, there are some drawbacks, but overall we really enjoyed the stay. The manager, George, is a unique individual who does a great job of taking care of the guests!
The building Is apparently the newest hotel in Seward. It is a solid three star hotel with rooms in a restaurant in lobby the pure clean. However they don’t appear to use any Covid disinfectant and none of the staff wears masks.
The room was comfortable, breakfast was yummy. The view from the front and back of the hotel is great! They have a gym in town that hotel guests can use. The hotel was quiet and the staff was friendly.
The location was perfect and the car park was so convenient for us as we hired a car. Having the option to dine and have a drink in the hotel made things easy after a long day of travelling!
Very near Kenai Fjords National Park and attractions in Seward. The restaurant right outside the hotel, the Salmon Bake, served the best salmon I have ever had.
We were glad we didn't stay right in Seward - this had a lovely peaceful setting and was only a short drive from the town. Staff at check-in was friendly.
