After visiting the city of Rotorua, we realized that staying a little out of town was a great choice. Rotorua was a meh city and driving is pretty much required to get to any of the interesting attractions. Better to stay at the Country Villa, in a lovely setting, with a clean comfortable room and charming hosts than to stay in an overpriced hotel smelling of sulfur.

The hosts, Mabel & Danny are very welcoming and pay attention to every aspect in order to create a holistic and authentic experience for their guests. The beautiful victorian house is artfully decorated on the interior interior and feels very cozy. The garden is skillfully taken care by the couple, striving for perfection. The property is extremely convenient to Rotorua, but you don’t have to deal with the traffic and the crowds.
