My husband and I are very well traveled (58 countries) and have stayed at 9 different Selinas now. We've stayed at everything from overwater bungalows in the Maldives, Ritz Carlton in Abu Dhabi, and now, 9 different Selinas in Central and South America. We always stay in a private room at Selina hotels and booked the suite this stay. Super spacious and clean. There are TONS of bathrooms too so we felt like we could have also booked the micro rooms with shared bathroom, but we got a good deal on the suite during black friday sales.
We will always keep coming back to Selina chains because we love the vibes. They're always well decorated, offer amazing well-priced tours, have super friendly staff, and just attract the right crowd of like minded travelers. Breakfast was free for us due to being Booking Genius/Level 3 members and it was fantastic. On site bar/restaurant too to get snacks and drinks if you wanted a munchie late at night. It's right across from a locals market where they sell the cutest hand made pottery and trinkets for a very low price. Tons of restaurants to walk to as well.

We loved the hotel. It was clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was satisfying and delicious. Drinking water and coffee were always available for free. The architecture of the building, interior design and the beauty added by small details, along with the well-planned pool area, were all wonderful.

I have never seen so many rude, contemptuous residents in most of the center city. They make Parisians look like a welcoming committee. They make a habit of fleecing tourists, both our hostel front desk and a food kiosk blatantly charged us more than they were supposed to and we witnessed atrocious behavior toward other tourists. Maybe 5% of the people we interacted with were friendly.
Service was comically bad in the restaurants we visited. They have plenty of tourists, but haven't learned much in the way of hospitality yet. Grocery stores are expensive with poor selections.
Arriving into Managua was not at all bad. And we are finding San Juan del Sur a joy, although this too is fairly pricey bc of all the American and Canadian tourists. Restaurant food was much higher quality and better value, service was great and everyone has been so very friendly.
So, really, all of our bad experiences were in Granada. I have no intention of returning and don't plan to recommend it to anyone. I hope to have a chance to see more of Managua before I leave.

Granada is a bustling city with nice people.
Granada is a bustling city with nice people. We like the fact that we were close to stores, markers, banks, parks etc..
What we did not like, is that there are no street signs, and since we were driving, we got lost a few times. Also, the beach was picturesque but unfortunately it was littered with garbage everywhere. It was very disappointing.

The churches and the restaurants.
The churches and the restaurants. There was a variety of restaurants and very reasonable prices. It was easy and inexpensive to get a cab home after dinner if we did not want to walk back to the hotel.
The friendliness and hospitality of the people was amazing.

It is an old city with a lot of old historic buildings. The infrastructure definitely needs upgrading. I have heard many good things about the beach area but I did not go to the beach. There are some sketchy areas at night time. So we did not leave on foot at night. if anyone had a reason to go to Granada I would definitely recommend the Hotel Jardin De Granada.

Its a great base to explore different venues for day trips and nice to walk around.
It was perfectly safe and outside of a few young children soliciting for $$$ it was a good experience.
Locals were absolutely helpful and the food was good. Excellent selection of dining venues.

Great town, unique colonial history and architecture.
Great town, unique colonial history and architecture. Granada is on the huge lake and many interesting volcanic islands that you can visit. A great city for biking, black market and "ramba" walking/dining area behind the beautiful Cathedral. Warning: city square park is beautiful but very crowded esp w aggressive and nasty taxi drivers. Many language schools and American backpackers. Realtively cheap restaurants.
Our stay at Hotel Jardin was absolutely wonderful!Everything about the property exceeded our expectations. The owner was delightful and went above and beyond to assist us with our every need. The staff were all so kind and accommodating, the grounds were immaculate, breakfast was fabulous, the pool was pristine, our kids fell in love with the sweet animals, and we were all sad to leave! We would absolutely recommend to anyone making the trip to Granada.
The hostel was nice, the staff was helpful and friendly. Even though its hard to communicate if you don't speak Spanish, they did their best. Contrary to the reviews on Google/Booking about money being stolen. I have not experienced this. Neither did I, at any point, have the feeling that the staff had bad intentions. There was also a happy hour with free cocktails which was a great plus.
Casa Babu is a beautiful colonial house and has been refurnished immaculately. Every attention to detail has been taken into consideration. From the Candle lit pool at night, candy on the pillow to the crepes at breakfast. The location was perfect, quiet but central and short walk to the main square and several nice restaurants. Yves the owner and host was knowledgable and helpful.
Very beautiful house with its colonial style. Everything is clean and made to feel like home.
Quiet place, close to the center.
Carlos, the owner is very nice and helpful! He brought us to a free tour of the city and gave us a lot of explanation on the history of the city.
Thank you for everything Carlos! I will come back here for sure
A beautiful 200 yr old colonial home with an authentic Granada family that was very welcoming, only wish my Spanish was better as I would have loved to chat more with them. Felt like a home stay, rooms were clean, comfortable and the street noise was not an issue. We extended our stay 2 nights without difficulty.
What a gem in Granada!! Xiomara, our host was wonderful! She help us sort out EVERYTHING! Always willing to go the extra mile. Even excess to a local gym just down the road!
The Hotel is nicely situated walking distance from everything. Nice pool to cool off.
We would highly recommend this cozy hotel.
Excellent hotel in the centre of Granada. Owner Gerry was so helpful as I became ill during my stay but he went to the chemist for me and got some tablets which made me fell better. Very comfortable rooms with air conditioning and a fan which worked well for the Granada heat. Would highly recommend
Hotel con Corazón is a pretty awesome place to stay. The facility is gorgeous-and I mean gorgeous in the unique Nicaraguan colonial style-very confortable, and the staff is nice and friendly. and also located at a good walking distance from the cool places around in the colonial heart of Granada.
Perfect Location
Staff were really good, helpful and friendly
Room + aircon were great, in a nice building
Both breakfast options were delicious
Clean warm pool
It isn't a party hotel/hostel like some nearby slightly cheaper options, Hotel Colonial really suited us as a more tranquil base
Excellent hotel , located three blocks from the central square. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. Airport pick-up went really well and was US$40. I would definitely recommend this place to stay in Granada.
The location is spectacular at an isleta close to Granada. A short car drive to the private pier with parking lot from where a short boat trip will take you to the hotel. It really reminds me of Fantasy Island with Ricardo Montalban if you are as old as I am
the room was a decent size not too big/ not too small, comfy bed, a good range of things to do at the hotel that was on offer very friendly staff and good customer service. We would definitely stay again next we’re in Granada.
Casa Delias is located a few minutes from Granada's cathedral. It's a colonial house with a nice garden and quiet rooms. It's convenient and you can use their patio and kitchen too. The owners are really friendly.
Love everything about this hotel. Location; service; cleanliness; staff; price; breakfast was all exceptional. Definitely recommend for all. Beautifully maintained. Original architecture of Granada. A must see.
Nice little colonial style hotel close to the centre of town. We had a nice room on the ground floor next to the pool. Staff were very attentive and breakfast was lovely. Would happily stay again.
I like everything, the place, the owner is very friendly and nice, the management is great, I recommend this hotel to stay, is located close to the historical places in Granada.
Super cute boutique hotel and excellent staff. Rooms were comfortable, onsite breakfast was perfect and we were given a great dinner restaurant recommendation.
