You are able to walk through Pisa in 20-30 min, what is amazing, but also, potentially, it is a perfect place to combine with some another historic city around. We stayed for one night. Next time i would arrive around lunch, spend 4-5 hours there and in the evening I would hop on the train and relocate to the different town-city.

We are not ones to attend the destinations (traps) so we did not go to the "tower" but we wandered the streets and piazzas on both sides of the river and enjoyed ourselves immensely. It is all flat and easily accessible on foot with nice shops and restaurants in abundance.

It’s a good city, but I think it would be ideal to visit it for one day and go back. But don’t spend a whole holiday in there because the city is small and aside from the place where there is the Pisa tower etc there isn’t really much to do. Also, the locals are very sweet and the food is not pricey.

Most say Pisa is a half day trip and has nothing else.
Most say Pisa is a half day trip and has nothing else. This simply isn't true. We loved Pisa and woud have happily made it a 2 or 3 day break. We went to see the sights after all the day trippers had left which was lovely. The site where the leaning tower is is architecturally stunning and even more impressive in real life. The old town is great for wandering round and there are lots of restaurants. There is plenty of hisotry not related to the tower. After Florence it was a welcome relief. Linger in Pisa and enjoy it when the crowds have gone home.

Opinion seems to be varied about Pisa.
Opinion seems to be varied about Pisa. We wanted a town with something to see and an airport so no onward travel. We had 3.5 days. Mostly very good weather. We spent a day in Lucca which is just a short ride away and the rest of the time exploring Pisa. We did this by train as its quick and there is effectively a shuttle, they also run the double decker trains which are always fun to go on.
We bought a ticket for all buildings in the Piazza dei Miracoli , the only thing that is timed is the Tower and in November we were able to buy a ticket and climb up right away. We spend the next afternoon doing the buildings that were open (one shut for renovation) and walked round part of the walls. The ticket is valid for a year but its only one entry. We took things slowly and wandered the streets on both sides of the River. Ate ice cream and doughnuts and tried a couple of local specialities. Relaxed and pleasant stay. If you just want to tick things off your bucket list you can do Pisa in a day,

The Leaning Tower visit was the highlight of the trip an iconic must see if you like history. A good time to visit not too many tourists and weather was pretty good for November. Plenty of places to eat. Try other Italian food apart from pizza.
It was perfect location. Very close to a university and what's more important university I had to go to. I was so happy to get a room with a view on Piazza del Duomo and slightly could see the Leaning Tower. My breakfast was the best I had since I arrived to Italy. The room was cozy and had a fast connection to internet which is a life savior. Overall the staff is very professional and their service was on a scale 10 out of 10. I was glad to choose Roma Hotel and would recommend it to everyone.
Autenthic Italy city center accommodation experience, 10 min walking from Pisa Centrale, 25 min walking from Airport.
I would summarize by saying that we felt just like home.
Exceptionally clean, one of the most comfortable beds. The breakfast ia very rich, freshly prepared and diversified by choice. The provolone cheese is something to remember. Flavia is a wonderful host, pleasant to talk with, very careful and we thank her for everything.
We had a late night arrival flight into Pisa with young kids and needed somewhere close to the airport before touring Tuscany by hire car the next morning. The Hotel room was massive! Its the best laid out family room I have ever stayed in. The staff were pleasant and helpful at all times. Breakfast for 4 of us was only €20 extra…€5 each! And it was good!! Great Hotel. Would definitely recommend and stay again for the purposes required
we arrived early and Milena met us there to allow us to store our luggage until our room was ready. She referred us to a family owned pizza restaurant next to the B&B to eat at. The pizza was the best we’ve had on our trip around Italy!! When we arrived back at the time suggested Milena informed us that she upgraded our room! Such a sweet nice lady Milena is. She made our stay in Pisa perfect and memorable! Thank you again Milena!
This hotel is located a very short distance from the front of the main railway station and is ideal for using the PisaMover shuttle to/from Pisa airport and for train travel to Siena, Florence, etc.. The hotel is quite visible on the left as you leave Pisa Centrale (the sign is circled on the attached photo), On my two stays my single room was compact but well equipped. The hotel staff were very helpful.
The room was spacious and had everything I needed. Clean. The guy at the reception (owner?) is friendly and helpful. There’s supermarket (PAM) nearby (2 min walk). It’s probably 5-7 min walk to the main attractions (main square with Pisa tower, etc.). It’s worth the money paid. I would book this hotel again whenever I am in Pisa. The furniture is old but it is all operational and is authentic.
First of all, the warm and helpful reception and guidance of the owner and staff. Furthermore, the pleasant and beautifully decorated setting of rooms, dining room, valie and garden. The location close to the airport but no noise pollution & good accessibility downtown. It was my best experience of all my Italy trips now and in the past. La corte di Stelio is what every B&B should be.
The best hotel! New and modern facilities. Directly outside of Pisa Centrale train station, walking distance to Pisa Tower. Bus Lam Rossa to Pisa tower too. The room has safe and kettle, which are important. Very comfortable beds. Great for the value. This is also a good suggested stay if want to go to Florence or cinque terre. 1 hour train to both.
We really appreciated how clean was the room, that we had everything we needed (fresh towels, hairdryer, tea) and also how close the hotel is to the Pisa Tower and the old city. Will definitely recommend this hotel as it is a great value for money.
A lot of city centre hotels in Italy (in our experience) can be a little "distressed" and sometimes gloomy with poor room facilities. This hotel was much better than we expected from a city centre hotel and had excellent facilities for the price.
The place was exceptional. Very close to the Tower of Pisa. And alot of restaurants around. The host was very accommodating. Easily one of the best hotels we’ve been to. Will rebook this hotel when we come back to Pisa.
A real hotel with spacious room and adequate furnishings. Spotlessly clean, attention given to detail. The staff are kind and helpful. Location is walking distance to the Pisa Tower, Airport and Train Station.
The hotel is located right next to the Leaning Tower of Pisa which was so ideal! The man at the front desk was so lovely and helped us with directions to the city centre at midnight when we checked in.
Hotel is located about 5 min from the Pisa Tower and has a rooftop with a view which is really nice. Hotel was very clean although its not new. breakfast was ok and staff was very kind and helpful.
We wanted a hotel near Airport so that we could walk to airport for our 6 am flight. This hotel is just 200m away from airport and just took 5 mins. Served its main purpose of booking this hotel.
A fabulous hotel and only a 5 minute walk to the leaning tower of Pisa along with all the amazing restaurants. The receptionist was so kind and helpful and we highly recommend this place.
Nice and cozy place. 300 m train station and from there you can find to airport for 5€ by shuttle.
The hotel located near Pisa Tower.
