Nice place to stay while visiting sites in North Iceland.
Nice place to stay while visiting sites in North Iceland. We were able to see the Northern lights while there in early October, but our lodging was slightly out of the main city lights. Nice restaurants and easy to walk around. Botanical garden was a very nice place.

Great place for a day trip, or two.
Great place for a day trip, or two. Limited eating options (compared to Reykjavik). The lagoons (Forest lagoon / Myvatn) are worth a visit. There are of course also some nearby waterfalls. There's a fantastic petting zoo which is definitely not to be missed.

Nice small city . Surprisingly bug infested in late summer.
Nice small city . Surprisingly bug infested in late summer. Wonderful sights nearby. Very few free parking lots . Dettifoss was awe inspiring. There are steam venting sites worth visiting. There are crevasses separating American and European plates you can walk across caves and crevasses where Game of Thrones was filmed . Restaurant 23 is a great fish restaurant

Akureyri is a beautiful little town in N. Iceland.
Akureyri is a beautiful little town in N. Iceland. Super picturesque, at the base of a fjord. We booked a whale watching tour with Keli Sea Tours and saw humpback whales.
Everything is walkable and there are some great restaurants, especially Strikið, where I had the best piece of salmon I have ever eaten.
The botanical garden is free and beautiful. The kids loved the little Christmas house on the edge of town.
If you are driving the ring road, you must stop here!

We was looking for local food but no one. we could find only pizza, burger, fried chicken restaurant. And we was found food truck which owner is very rude, we not recommend there but anyway bakery at the corner was very good.
The bungalow was very comfortable and cosy, located in the woods. Fairytale and very romantic place. There is a queen size bed, video option with movies, table and small kitchen inside. The bathroom was enough big. We will recommend for dinner the Eyri restaurant on the lake, only 10 minutes away from the property. It´s a gourmet one (higher price level) but all very tasty with an excellend wine choice. Near Akureyri we will highly recommend also to visit the Forest Lagoon (thermal baths).
Great location although it was hard to find when we 1st got there at night. There was a key and a note explaining the house rules at the entry. The room was super small and the beds not very comfortable. But it was clean. Not wi-fi or mobile service available in our room.
Breakfast was available at the restaurant, it was ok.
The kitchen is super small and the tables area as well which can be complicated if there's more than one group trying to prepare dinner at the same time.
I recently stayed at [Hotel Name] and had a fantastic experience. When I arrived, the staff warmly welcomed me and made me feel at home. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and they were always available to assist with any questions or requests during my stay.
The highlight of my stay was the breathtaking view from my room.
Not to be outdone, the bed in my room was incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast was simple but good.
Stayed three nights. The location was great - walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable.
Tea and coffee available all day in the lobby. Breakfast was great in the 60's style kitchen and the coffee maker divine. Fridge for guests in the lobby. Homeowner very friendly.
A lot of free public spots to park.
* Really unique setup at the hotel, great ambience and really warm / cosy rooms.
* Really well located for a stay in Akureyri and a short walk to the Main Street for shops / restaurants.
* Super easy check-in / check-out.
* When visiting Akureyri would definitely stay here again, we even got a message saying we had a free room upgrade! Thank you so much!!!
Ideal location in central Akureyri. The Modern Art Museum is just a stone's throw away from the hotel and a short walkaway to the botanical garden and the restaurant scene.
The hotel style charachter remains classic, yet with a modern touch in the choice of colour scheme and furniture pieces. The service is of high standard.
The hotel room was spacious for our three people family. It was an old house with a lot of antique furniture and items. The house was well maintained and very clean. We arrived late and the host was very nice to explain how to get to the hotel and provided us other useful information. Breakfast was great.
This is an exceptional guesthouse, just outside Akureyri. The sharing bathrooms are clean and smell nice (the hot water in Iceland smells of sulfur, so this is quite a feat). And the breakfast was phenomenal. Akureyri, and this place, is a great base for exploring the northern parts of Iceland.
Located in the heart of Akureyri, Kea offers a deluxe base from which to enjoy Northern Iceland. The hotel is extremely clean, well maintained yet classic in design. We always stay here when in the North and Kea always delights. The staff is excellent as is the restaurant. Really a delight.
An exceptional hotel in a perfect location. The staff is beyond helpful and caring. The restaurant offers world-class cooking, and the amenities like hot tub, games, and free coffee and tea are only a few of the joys this hotel offers. We will definitely come back!
Location is great... a short walk to the town centre with lots of food. Windows overlook the water. Easy to spot from the main road. Breakfast is not included. Order directly from the restaurant. The waffles, skyr and salmon on toast were all delightful!
Walking distance to town centre and restaurants.
Nice and spacious apartment. Excellent option for overnight or long haul stays in Akureyri .
Dry cleaning facilities is definitely a bonus with this stay.
Ample parking too.
Great location with easy access to restaurants, shops, and sites in Akureyri. Check in and check out is easy. It was a nice stay, but nothing particularly special. Good facilities if you want to cook your own meals.
The staff was incredible. The view of the mountains were beautiful and the location to Akureyri was so convenient. The breakfast was very nice with your choice of specialty coffee machine. Highly recommend.
Conveniently located in the area full of shops and restaurants. Nice room, not very big but definitely ok for a short stay. Simple but good breakfast. Everything ok!
