Obviously, the main reason to visit Olympia is fror the ancient ruins of the Stadium and surrounding artifacts. It is a full day to see everything. We didn't engage the audio guide, as it was a bit complicated with a pre-set-up and download. But I recommend going into the museum to see the model of the area as it was in use to more fully enjoy and identify the ruins. Walking under the arched tunnel into the stadium made the hair on my arms stand up - such an energy.

Olympia was quite a surprise for me.
Olympia was quite a surprise for me.
Considering its a small town it had all you could need.
The ancient archeological site is a must see for anyone interested in history and the museum is great also and a must see as well.
The town is cosy with everything walking distance and at night its something else with restaurants and bars and shops all lit up and vibrant plus wide tree lined streets that make it a pleasure to walk through.
I can definitely recommend it and maybe a stop over on the way to the Ionian islands.
Ohhh forgot to say that one of the nicest restaurants is Taverna Orestis where i had one of the nicest meals iv had in my 9 weeks in Greece i can highly recommend it.

One night stay is enough for visiting the Archeological Site and the Museums. The small the town has only two major streets, one with shady restaurants and the other with shops. You can fint not only the Olimpia museums but a small museum about Archimedes which is really worth to visit.
It is quite a long time to get to Olimpia from the direction of Corinth, but you can choose the slower route across the hills which hides lovely villages.

Small village which is mainly famous for the museum.
Small village which is mainly famous for the museum. Besides this, there was not much of interest around. Therefore, if you are mainly interested in visiting the museum just plan for one night and be on your way.

Most people come here to visit Olympia, which, if done right, is a (very) full day, so it's definitely worth staying in the area for a couple nights. Of course, if you aren't into ruins and the history of the Olympics, you might be disappointed, but there are also wineries, olive oil factories, and hiking in the Lusios Gorge, so the area is a good base. It is more "touristy" than some of the other places, but not outrageously so.
Cheap room located in the town center of Olympia, near all the shops and restaurants, which is very convenient! Our room was spacious, clean and well-equipped. We also had access to a private balcony, which was perfect to relax or have a bite/drink. The check-in and check-out processes were quick and easy, which we really liked. There is no private parking, but it is easy to park nearby for free.
This property was in a good location just 10 minutes from Olympia. The staff was welcoming, the room was very clean and had all amenities and a great view from the little terrace. In fact the entire hotel was very clean and well maintained and the pool was a refreshing delight. They also had a very good restaurant with beautiful views, great service and food. I would highly recommend Bacchus!
Exceptionally warm greeting from Kostas. Very central location, hot showers, good coffee at the bakery nearby. Great idea to stay overnight and get an early start at museum and parks, especially in winter when closure is 3.30pm. So much to see and experience at the key sites. The gods favoured us with good weather and autumnal tones. Glad we visited!
.The hotel occupies a huge plot of land in a quiet spot just at the border of the town. The historical sites of Olympia is within easy reach. The layout of the hotel is low rise with a large lobby and bar area. Nice pool with large garden. Everything looks bright. The view from our balcony was pure nature.
The hospitality was great and the pool area lovely. The hotel is also located in a great area away from the noise of the city, but a close walk to many restaurants and shops. The Ancient Site of Olympia is only a 10 minute walk away. The rooms were comfortable.
Modern and clean rooms. The location is perfect for a visit of ancient Olympia and very close to the „city center“.
The breakfast for 5€ per person is really good.
Public parking lot is across the street. During our stay the parking lot was nearly empty
Spectacular view, the Garden Terrace restaurant is amongst olive trees with a view of the valley, room was modern and well appointed, staff was very accomodating. Breakfast buffet was expansive and delicious. Great location for sightseeing Olympia.
Simple and basic. Friendly staff. Walking distance from Ancient Olympia site. It's a place foe 1-2 night stay not more.
We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so can't say anything about it.
Variety of restaurants and cafes in walking distance.
Very simple and spotlessly clean guest house perfect for a overnight in Olympia. Friendly helpful host and lovely breakfast. Olympia is tiny so it's near to everything. We booked two rooms second one for the kids and all went well.
Our host was so accommodating and friendly. Very attentive to provide us with a nice stay. The room was spacious and quiet, great location , near the Olympic archeological sites, every store and museums were at a walking distance.
The Hotel was located very close to Olympia site and the main street with lots of access to restaurants and bars. Very clean and tidy hotel with friendly helpful staff. Parking was available right outside the hotel
The location of the hotel, very close to the center of Archaia Olympia and close enough to the museums / archaeological site. The front desk personnel was very helpful. Basic breakfast, but acceptable in the end.
The hotel is located only 10 min from both ancient Olympia and the town of Olympia. The rooms had a balcony overlooking the valley below and a crystal clear swimming pool and sun beds to relax in the afternoon
Friendly, family run hotel, helpful staff - great breakfast. Comfortable room with balcony to street. Awesome location near everything!
Loved the Olympic torches in the main room!
Accurate description, very well located and very clean. Nice and respectful host, very responsive. For a very small amount of money, we had a good breakfast at the hotel.
