Just 15 minutes walk away from the sacred site of Ancient Olympia, this charming hotel offers quality rooms, complete with orthopedic mattresses, for a comfortable stay in a peaceful area.

Hotel was very conveniently located in the village of Ancient Olympia; we could easily walk to the ancient site, museums, and restaurants/cafes within minutes. We were also able to park on the street next to the hotel. The hotel had a "homey" feeling. There was a nice spread for breakfast, and the hotel staff made some recommendations for restaurants for dinner. Nice breakfast area. Room had a balcony and a view of the church square.

The room was very basic, but we didn't expect too much for the price. The extremely friendly and gracious staff, and delicious breakfast, made up for the somewhat cramped and old fashioned facilities.

I didn’t realise just how important Olympia was, the first Olympic Games happened here, the ancient state of Greece was inaugurated here, some of the greatest sculpture ever made reside here. All set amongst the most beautiful landscape.

Obviously, the main reason to visit Olympia is fror the ancient ruins of the Stadium and surrounding artifacts. It is a full day to see everything. We didn't engage the audio guide, as it was a bit complicated with a pre-set-up and download. But I recommend going into the museum to see the model of the area as it was in use to more fully enjoy and identify the ruins. Walking under the arched tunnel into the stadium made the hair on my arms stand up - such an energy.

Olympia was quite a surprise for me.

Olympia was quite a surprise for me. Considering its a small town it had all you could need. The ancient archeological site is a must see for anyone interested in history and the museum is great also and a must see as well. The town is cosy with everything walking distance and at night its something else with restaurants and bars and shops all lit up and vibrant plus wide tree lined streets that make it a pleasure to walk through. I can definitely recommend it and maybe a stop over on the way to the Ionian islands. Ohhh forgot to say that one of the nicest restaurants is Taverna Orestis where i had one of the nicest meals iv had in my 9 weeks in Greece i can highly recommend it.

One night stay is enough for visiting the Archeological Site...

One night stay is enough for visiting the Archeological Site and the Museums. The small the town has only two major streets, one with shady restaurants and the other with shops. You can fint not only the Olimpia museums but a small museum about Archimedes which is really worth to visit. It is quite a long time to get to Olimpia from the direction of Corinth, but you can choose the slower route across the hills which hides lovely villages.

Small village which is mainly famous for the museum. Besides this, there was not much of interest around. Therefore, if you are mainly interested in visiting the museum just plan for one night and be on your way.

The hotel seems designed for large tour groups, but we felt very welcome as a couple. They accommodated our request for a top floor room that was lovely and roomy, the pool inviting and a great way to end the afternoon tour of ancient Olympia. It was nice to be only 10 minutes from the town and feel so delightfully remote. The bed was perfect. We didn’t get to the breakfast til near closing, but they treated us as if we owned the hotel. The breakfast was a huge buffet topped by the best extra strong cappuccino around.

Conveniently located in Olympia (although to be fair, Olympia is small and everything is convenient) at a budget price. Hotel Pelops is nothing fancy, but you get the feeling that it has hosted many visitors to the archaeological site over the years, and remains unchanged :) We really appreciated the little map the proprietor drew for us at check-in. Don't miss the Olympic torches in the breakfast room!

All personnel is nice and efficient. The swimming pool is surrounded by garden and you have a bar service. The room is design, well equipped and has a beaufiful view on the valley. We had dinner in the garden with a beautiful sunset. The archeological site is very near by car and we did it even by foot ; nice walk of 15 min but quite sportive on the return as the hotel is on the hill.

Enormous room, plus large balcony with views over Olympia. Hotel also has good sized swimming pool which was most welcome at end of a long hot day of driving. Location is excellent - on hill overlooking the town - away from the town noise but still very short walk (about 5 minutes) into the main street and restaurant area. And good breakfast selection also.

This hotel has a good location for visiting the ancient ruins and museum of Olympia. It is run by a friendly owner and his sweet elderly father who prepared traditional Greek fried dough with honey for our breakfast. It was clear they enjoy interacting with their guests. We enjoyed talking with "Barba Fotis."

Well priced hotel that included breakfast. We were able to walk to the ruins. We were also able to park our car behind and leave it while we visited Olympia. The man at desk was helpful about orienting us and also made a good dinner recommendation which we liked. Decor is functional and basic.
